Heartily Service to the Lord

Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:22-24

Paul addressed bondservants and instructed them biblically on how they ought to obey their masters. At work, employees are not to be watching the clock or taking extra breaks or extended lunches. Witness to people on your own time not during work hours. In the eyes of the Lord, that is not fair to your employer. Make sure you put in your whole eight hours.

Then, when you get your paycheck, you know you deserve it, you earned it because you have worked hard and accomplished your full work load. If you have not made the effort to put in the time, then you have cheated and robbed your employer.

As a Christian employee do not murmur or complain. Any work that is accomplished no matter how humble––sweeping, cleaning or mopping–– should be done heartily as to the Lord. Please the Lord! The Lord is the one who is going to reward you! He is fair. If you are pleasing the Lord, then you will please your employer. Consider who is really paying your wages. It is the Lord. Understand, the Lord is the One blessing and supplying your employer with enough finances to pay you.

Employees can become very dissatisfied with their employers or an employer with his employee’s. There are a lot of people in the work force who become greedy within their positions. They can take advantage of each other and mistrust can grow between them.

There are times when an employee will steal from their employers because they feel they are not being treated fairly. Some individuals go as far as to strike. They join the picket lines to demand more benefits and more money, but they often want to work fewer hours. There has to be honesty and integrity in the workplace.

...let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us...
~Psalm 90:17~
