God’s Amazing Grace
Grace be with you all. Amen.
Titus 3:15
Paul finished His letter to Titus with a greeting of grace. He desired that God’s grace would be with them all. What a blessing to always have the grace of God with us. What does the word grace mean? It is often defined as “God’s riches at Christ’s expense,” or “His unmerited favor.” We do not deserve God’s grace; we deserve punishment for our sins. But consider what God’s grace has done for us:
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:4-9).
As I was completing this last chapter in the book of Titus, I could not help but think about the grace of God working in the lives of people in our church throughout all these years. In fact, several years ago, our incredible tech team produced a remarkable movie called Journey of Grace. It traced the history of Calvary Chapel West Covina, and then it went on to show how God miraculously provided for our new facility here in Diamond Bar at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. God has been good to us! It truly has been a Journey of Grace.
As a believer, God’s grace is with you always; it will carry you through to the end of your days.
The Lord may not give gold, but He will give grace: He may not give gain, but He will give grace. He will certainly send us trials, but He will give grace in proportion thereto. We may be called to labor and suffer, but with the call there will come all the grace required.
