Husbands, Love, Love, Love Your Wives!
Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
Colossians 3:19
I cannot say this enough, husbands love your wives! A husband is to rule over his wife through love, not by dominating her or ruling by force. Live with your wife for life and honor her. Marriage is a life-long commitment until death do you part! Husbands are to take the responsibility to be in the Word and prayer with their wives. Spend time with your wife.
Women are more emotional and a husband is to be understanding toward his wife: Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7).
Husbands will often say they do not understand their wives, but they need to learn how too lovingly handle their wife’s emotions. Go to the Lord, He understands. Notice, if a husband’s relationship is not right with his wife, his prayers are hindered. That is important, when you get bitter toward your wife heaven becomes as brass.
Bitterness will show in a husband’s emotions and actions toward his wife. Harboring bitterness will not bring a husband and wife together, it separates them. Love in a marriage will always enrich the relationship while bitterness will make a spouse say things they wish they could take back. In the past, have you said things in anger or made cutting, hurtful remarks to your spouse? Make things right with your wife. God is great at changing hearts, ask Him to help you.
As long as a husband’s heart is right before God and he is not bitter toward his wife God will answer his prayers. Do not argue with your wife but pray. It is better to place a wife in the hands of the Lord and let God take care of the situation.
For a married couple to expect perfection in each other is unrealistic.
