The Coming Government of Christ
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
When Jesus Christ came the first time, the government was not on His shoulders; He did not rule the nations. But when He comes again, He will. Consider what Isaiah the prophet wrote. Jesus will accomplish these prophecies: His government and peace there will be no end!
Reflect on what happens after the Rapture of the Church. This event begins a seven-year countdown. God brings His wrath and judgment on the Gentile nations, who have rejected the love, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ for 1900 years, the seven-year Tribulation period. If you do not believe me, read the book of Revelation. You will find the whole account written in Scripture for us (Revelation 6-22).
The first 3½ years, the Antichrist will establish a covenant with Israel. At first, in deception, he will make himself to be a man of peace and unity. The Jews will embrace him as their Messiah, but he is a false Messiah. When the Antichrist goes into the Temple, into the Holy of Holies, and declares himself to be God and demands to be worshiped, the second 3½ years will bring about the Great Tribulation (Daniel 9:27).
At this point, the Jews will flee into the wilderness. The Bible tells us that for 3½ years, God will protect His people. I believe a remnant will flee to Petra, a city in the rocks. After the Great Tribulation ends, Jesus, in His Second Coming, will go to war with the nations. The battle will take place in the Valley of Megiddo (Revelation 14:20). Jesus as Conqueror will set up His government of peace––a thousand-year reign. Man tries to fight against God. If that is you, are you ready to stop fighting against Him? Will you surrender your life to Christ?
Truly, no one would be able to see Christ in his glory and majesty unless you have first seen yourself in your degradation and shame.
