Reaching a Lost Generation for Christ

Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Acts 9:1-2

Saul had become such a menace to society by threatening the Church. He was a religious fanatic! He thought he was doing what was right in the name of his religion. Saul was on his way to Damascus from Jerusalem with the intent to threaten, imprison and murder any followers of Christ he found. He hated them!

It is amazing when you read the story of Saul’s conversion, because God needed a man to reach this lost generation. All the way through biblical history, God called different men to reach a generation in need of Him. Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, and Joshua led them into the Promised Land. God used men like Daniel, Nehemiah, Mordecai and Gideon. In every situation, God was always looking for a man, young or old, to reach their generation. The Bible tells us: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

I was very much like Saul before coming to Christ. I was a violent and angry man who had become a menace to my family and society. Yet God saw a man that He could use. When I finally surrendered my life to Christ, God began to use me, along with a group of other men that God called to be a part of the Calvary Chapel movement, started by Pastor Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, in California.

At the present time, God is using my son Ryan to reach the lost. I am praying that God will raise up more men that He can use. Will you surrender your life to Christ so that He can use you to reach this lost generation?

Lost! Lost! Lost! Better a whole world on fire than a soul lost! Better every star quenched and the skies a wreck than a single soul to be lost!
