Is Your Faith a Saving Reality?
...believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
1 Peter 1:21
We have just celebrated a glorious Easter that reminded us of our Perfector of our faith––Jesus Christ––who is now seated at the right hand of the Father. In obedience to the Father’s will, Jesus exercised His faith by going to the Cross. He rose from the dead and is seated in a place of honor and victory––at the right hand of the Father: So then, after the Lord had spoken to them [the disciples], He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19).
How we need to keep our eyes upon Jesus, because He has gone before us and has made a way for us to be saved! That is why Hebrews 12:2 is so important. This verse calls us to fix our eyes on Jesus: ...looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Do you remember what Jesus said to Martha when Lazarus, her brother, died? He told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26). What was Martha’s reply? She said: “...I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world” (John 11:27).
What do you believe about Jesus Christ? Do you believe He has the power to raise your dead body from the grave? Is your faith a saving reality? Why not take a step of faith, repent, and ask for the forgiveness of your sin? If you do, the hope of eternal life will become your saving reality!
The Resurrection of Christ is the most important article of our faith, and without it the hope of eternal life is extinguished.
