April Fools’ Day
“Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard rather than the shout of a ruler of fools.”
Ecclesiastes 9:17
There are many foolish voices in America today. Liberals on social media and news channels are continuing to shout foolish words. One person used threatening words toward two Supreme Court justices. Political candidates are shouting words of socialism, seeking to strip our country of its productivity and capitalism. Worse still are voices heard in the House of Representatives who recently voted down the “Born Alive Bill” to save unwanted newborns. These helpless, living, breathing individuals will not receive medical treatment. Instead they will be left to die––sad.
As a nation, we need men and women of wisdom and integrity in places of government––those who uphold our Christian values and respect our Constitutional freedoms. Our country thrives on freedom: the freedom of religion, the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, freedom of petition, and the right to bear arms.
As a Christian, your words are very important. May God give you wisdom when you speak to others. Even quiet, righteous words that are spoken by the wise will stand against other people’s foolish ranting. Your voice can become of great influence in the world today. Now, more than ever, you will have the opportunity to share the Gospel––glad tidings:
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:14-15)
Ask God for wisdom in all the words you say. You can give people hope, salvation, light and great wisdom.
The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
~Psalm 119:130~
