Knowing Prophecy

Therefore, when they [the disciples] had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”
Acts 1:6-7

It is important to have a good knowledge of prophecy in the Scriptures. How many Scriptures do you know in both the Old Testament and the New Testament that relate to prophecies about Jesus Christ? Do you know which Scriptures have been fulfilled concerning Him?

There are also important prophecies about the nation of Israel in the Bible. Today, we shall take a look at prophecies that directly relate to Jesus Christ and Israel’s restoration. Way back in the book of Genesis, we find a prophecy about Jesus Christ when He rules and reigns in the Kingdom Age: The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people (Genesis 49:10).

Jesus came from the lineage of Judah, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. His royal scepter and throne are obvious in the time of the restoration of Israel. Another prophecy concerning Israel’s restoration is found in Isaiah 1:26-27:

“I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” Zion shall be redeemed with justice, her penitents with righteousness.”

You cannot say this about Israel now, but it will be said of her in the Kingdom Age. What about yourself? What can be said of you? Are you one of God’s believing ones who have repented of your sin so you can be blessed in the Kingdom Age?

When the author walks on the stage the play is over. God is going to invade, all right - something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left? For this time it will be God without disguise. It will be too late then to choose your side.
