What is it that you are living for? Is it to provide for a good living? How about a lot of nice things? The fact is that if we are living for anything other than to live for Christ in all things, we are misguided. We head off to work, we have our cell phones glued to our ears, we’re watching the stock market all the time, we drive our nice cars to our fenced in houses – and all for what? It is time to get our priorities straight and get back to what really matters in this life and on this earth – living completely for God!

A showerhead is a unit that allows water to flow through it and spread out as it flows out. But it only takes a little debris to clog up the flow of the water. And sometimes the debris is so thick that it completely blocks the water from coming out. The same applies for our lives. Sin creates a debris field that completely blocks what God wants to do through our lives. We simply have to be aware of this fact and keep clean the unit of our lives so He can freely flow through us.

We are in one of two categories: either the poopers who only think of themselves and leave a pile of messes behind them, or we are the ones who come along behind and clean the messes up. New believers are still prone to leaving and making messes, but at some point they have to grow up and become the scoopers in life. It’s not that we don’t sin, we all do. But somewhere along the line, we have to get beyond ourselves and realize it’s about others if we are going to grow as believers and as a church.

It is way too easy for people to give up on things, especially when it comes to their marriage or families. Yes, we are to run away from the things that can cause us harm. But we are to take a stand against the things that want to destroy us. The best part is that God said that He would do the fighting for us, all we have to do is draw our sword, which is His Word, and watch Him take out the enemy.
