The Power of Prayer

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Jesus said the most extraordinary thing to His disciples.  "If you hang close to me and my words have sway in your heart, you can ask for whatever you wish and it will be given to you."

Hooly dooly - that opens up a Pandora's box.

WHATEVER YOU WISH.  That's one big WHATEVER.  How can He make a promise like that?

Well, have a listen.  He starts off with a qualifier - "IF you hang close to me and my words have sway in your heart" - in other words - can I paraphrase this bluntly - IF you make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life.

Don't know about you - but I have…made Jesus my Lord.  And since then - what I want more than anything else - is for His will to be done.

Now I know I can ask God for whatever I want and I know He'll give it to me.  But these days - I'm really careful what I ask for. Because first and foremost - I want His will to be done on earth, as it is in Heaven…
