Staying Spiritually Sharp

August 9, 2018

One minute, we’re told to believe in ourselves—the next minute, we’re told we’ll never amount to anything. Jill answers this question by exploring what true humility is, and encourages us to see ourselves as God sees us.

Envy and jealousy are so easy to struggle with, especially in today’s culture. And all too soon, wanting what someone else has morphs into wanting them not to have it. In this message, Jill explores how true Love rejoices at the triumphs of others, and she gives practical insight into how we can have this kind of love—even when it’s tough!

When we think of love, it's often the flawed, fleeting variety that lasts only as long as we are happy. But that kind of love isn't the love described in 1 Corinthians. God's love is bigger and deeper than that—to see it you only have to follow Jesus through the Gospels! Jill takes a fresh, in-depth look at the popular subject of love, contrasting what we know of love and what God tells us love should be. You'll learn the dos and don'ts of agape love.

Called to unlock the door to the secrets of God’s saving grace, Paul followed the footsteps of Jesus. They were principles that fueled his amazing life and made him a “world shaker.” We can own those principles, too, and shake up our world for Christ.  This message includes Jill’s poem, “God Dropped By.”

Paul had a heart as big as the world, a vision as high as the sky, and a life that marches down the stairway of time into our little lives—enlarging them forever. He was a mover and a shaker—a “world shaker.” From this point on in the narrative, Paul would be in prison and bondage until the end of his course on earth.

Most of us feel like we're juggling so many roles and responsibilities—in our homes, families, workplaces, social activities. How do we balance all of these things while being the reflection of Christ to the people we encounter every day? In this message, Jill teaches how we can use the example of the conscientious Proverbs 31 woman to have the Lord's heart for the world around us.
