In the story of Elijah, God answers Elijah's prayer and sends fire from heaven down to Elijah's altar, in order to show the people of Israel that He is the one and only true God. This is just one example of how God answers prayer. In this message, Jill uses the analogy of an altar and describes twelve components that make up our relationship with God. It's a way of helping us understand how God can send "fire" down to our altars to answer our prayers. Based on 1 Kings 18:16-40, this is the 4th message in Jill's 8-message series, "Prayer That Works."

As much as he or she tries to hide the mistake, most often the parents find out. The same is true of our sin. As much as we try to bury our sin, God always knows about it. But how do we confront it? In this message by Jill, she teaches us what to do with sin so that we can make God the true ruler of our lives. If the enemy can't separate you from God, he's content to do the next best thing... distract you with subtle traps that will draw you away from God. These traps may seem like normal things in life that you manage every day - time, money, self. But if you get caught up in the bait he sets in these areas, you'll struggle with priorities and gradually begin to turn away from God. And you might not even realize it.This is the last teaching from Jill Briscoe's 5-message series, Entrapment: Overcoming Temptations Women Face, based on the Book of James.
