Jehovah Jireh - The Lord Will Provide

January 4, 2018

In Genesis, God asked Abraham to go to Mount Moriah to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Abraham obeyed God and took Isaac up the mountain. On the way, Isaac kept asking his father what they would be sacrificing. When it became clear what was happening, Isaac obeyed his father—even though he was probably very frightened. Are you like Isaac, willing to be a sacrifice for God? In this message, Jill helps us understand God as our Jehovah-Jireh, our provider, so we can learn to be committed to God's plan.

In Bible times, every seven years all slaves had the chance to go free. If they chose to stay with their masters, they would be taken to the public market and a peg was put through one of the slave's ears to mutilate the ear. That way he would be "marked" as a slave who loved his master and did not want to go free. We are called to serve God as willing slaves. Do you consider yourself "marked" for God? In this message, Jill explores God as our Adonai, or master, to help us understand how we can serve God better.

The wonder of God's creation is all around us. Look at the flowers, the birds, and the tiniest insects, and you'll discover the amazing plan and intricate design of His creations. And then think about how much more he cares for us and his entire universe. In this message, Jill helps us understand God as our Elohim, or creator.

Are you going through the motions with no real passion for your faith or God? Are you dull and ineffective? If so, you've lost your spiritual edge, and there's nothing that delights the devil more. Find out how to sharpen your faith again in this single message from Jill Briscoe. Teaching from the story of Elisha and a lost ax in 2 Kings 6, Jill encourages you to uncover how and where you lost your edge.  Ask yourself honestly—have you lost it to bitterness, unforgiveness, lust, materialism, willfulness, laziness, or just plain selfishness? Be encouraged that the lost ax is not the end of the story—it can be found, with God's help!

Is your heart asking, “How long, O Lord”? Who or what are you waiting for? A job? A friend to be a friend? Someone to love you or for you to love back? Are you waiting for a break—or a baby? A child to say they’re sorry, reconciliation, or an important prayer to be answered? Maybe you’re waiting for the bullying or betrayal to stop—or lying, hating, injustice, corruption, or hurt. Or perhaps you are in a crisis of faith that needs to be resolved. In this message from Habakkuk, Jill Briscoe offers encouragement for the tough times in life.

I believe in Jesus, but for so long I’ve been spiritually dry. I made a mistake. A bad mistake! And since then, I’ve been living in a desert of regrets in a dry and barren land… thirsty, thirsty, thirsty. It's been a long time since I’ve experienced a sense of the supernatural. I feel isolated, marginalized, full of self-doubt—a failure! If this sounds like you, Jill Briscoe offers help in her message based on the life of Moses.

We often ask, “Where is God? I look for Him, but I do not see Him. I listen for Him, but I do not hear Him. It is dark—so very dark. Not pitch black perhaps, but my life is lived in shadows. How can I find God in the shadows?” In this message, Jill Briscoe looks at the life of Esther to uncover answers to those questions.

Luke is the only Gospel writer who records this part of Jesus’ life. Jesus is now a pre-adolescent. These years are known as “the silent years.”

Jill Briscoe invites you to sit with her on the steps of her soul in this special holiday recording of some Christmas poems and short stories.  As winter begins to cast a long shadow on your days, will bloom Jesus in your heart.  You'll be drawn to the center of your relationship with God where you can focus on His love and magnificence. (These excerpts are from her book “The Deep Place Where Nobody Goes,” but as of December 2017 the book is out of print.)

“That though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 There are over 350 prophesies in the Old Testament that describe the Messiah. Jesus, born with no fanfare or even a crib, fulfilled every single one! The mathematical odds of that are virtually impossible. And yet, even with that knowledge, the question about Jesus is ultimately a personal one you have to decide on your own. Who do you think the baby Jesus was? In this message from Jill, she asks you this very question. If you believe the baby Jesus is God, you will live your life with a different perspective and purpose.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 Jesus did not say, “Come to me and I’ll fill your life full of stuff.” He said, “I’ll fill it full of Me. I’ll fill it full of God, and then you will have life to the full.” And that’s what Christmas is all about. We often forget that as we get busy shopping, baking, decorating, wrapping, and attending parties. In this message, Jill challenges us to keep the focus on Christ and the significance of His birth this Christmas.
