His Plan in My Life - His Words in My Mouth

June 4, 2019

Do you ever find yourself running away from God's plans because you feel inadequate? Jeremiah felt inadequate when God called him to be a prophet. But God spoke a promise to Jeremiah saying, "My plan will be in your life, My work will be in your hand, and My words will be in your mouth."

In this message, Jill teaches how to have the kind of faith that believes that God will enable and equip us to do everything He asks of us.

Trying to walk in faith is a day-by-day lesson in leaning on God. It's figuring out moment-by-moment what a Christian life looks like—and it's not easy.  Jeremiah had to learn how to have faith like this when he was in the pit, when he was fighting despair and doubt. During this time, God was teaching Jeremiah to put his mind on Him, instead of on the troubles of life.  Jeremiah's testimony of learning faith morning by morning is a great lesson for us in pursuing faith, even in doubts and trials.

What's a parent to do with a child in this day and age? What's a child to do with a parent? The New Testament says that children are to obey their parents, for this is right. Parents are told not to "exasperate" their children (Eph. 6:3-4). That means don't drive them up the wall! Instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.  Is this possible in this present evil age? Jill Briscoe looks at Proverb 31:1-9 to find answers to some of these questions.

Are you going through the motions with no real passion for your faith or God? Are you dull and ineffective? If so, you've lost your spiritual edge, and there's nothing that delights the devil more. Find out how to sharpen your faith again in this single message from Jill Briscoe. Teaching from the story of Elisha and a lost ax in 2 Kings 6, Jill encourages you to uncover how and where you lost your edge.  Ask yourself honestly—have you lost it to bitterness, unforgiveness, lust, materialism, willfulness, laziness, or just plain selfishness? Be encouraged that the lost ax is not the end of the story—it can be found, with God's help!

When we are bogged down with feelings of inadequacy, or when we are burdened by expectations, it's a great time to pray. But sometimes it can be hard for us to know what to pray or even how to pray. In this message, Jill walks us through the Old Testament prayer process that was followed within the temple and compares it to New Testament times to help us understand the importance of prayer and learn how to deepen our prayer life.

From making a very small decision to dealing with what seems like an impossible situation, we often find ourselves looking for wisdom and striving to follow God's will. We're seeking to make wise choices. In this message, Jill looks at the life of Solomon to help us understand how we can develop wisdom.

Called to unlock the door to the secrets of God’s saving grace, Paul followed the footsteps of Jesus. They were principles that fueled his amazing life and made him a “world shaker.” We can own those principles, too, and shake up our world for Christ.  This message includes Jill’s poem, “God Dropped By.”

Paul had a heart as big as the world, a vision as high as the sky, and a life that marches down the stairway of time into our little lives—enlarging them forever. He was a mover and a shaker—a “world shaker.” From this point on in the narrative, Paul would be in prison and bondage until the end of his course on earth.

Can you say with certainty that you believe God is working out His greater purposes for you? Do you believe He can bring beauty out of the most hideous situations?  Job's story demonstrates the undeniable beauty that God can bring out of darkness. In this message, Jill shares how, as a result of our troubles, we can experience beauty like never before.

Are you ever tempted to blame yourself for your suffering? Satan wants us to believe that hardships are punishment for our sin—but nothing could be further from the truth. Christ suffered the consequences of our sin so we don't have to. In this message, Jill looks to the book of Job to explain how—in the midst of our turmoil—we can live above Satan's lies and live in light of the Truth instead.
