All of these are topics that we are studying to understand the picture of the Last Days before and after Jesus comes to rapture His church. Pastor Jeff Johnson is showing us how Paul the apostle is encouraging us not to be ignorant of the picture in the times that we are living in right now. There are a few areas in the Bible where we are told not to be ignorant. Such is the case in our portion of 1 Thessalonians 4. Paul the apostle passionately wanted the believers to know about the rapture of the church. And Pastor Jeff teaches that the more we know about the rapture of the church, the more we will be in tune to the times we are living in. That will, in turn cause us to be anticipating Jesus’ coming for His bride. As you listen to the message today, may God help to stir you up as you see the times that we are living in today. With that in mind, let’s open to 1 Thessalonians 4 in our study titled, “The Comings of the Lord” for our time in Sound Doctrine.

There has always been a balance in the Christian life between doing all that we can to be responsible and earn a living vs. trusting in God’s provision for ourselves and our families. But what happens when there is an unhealthy imbalance? When slothfulness is masqueraded as trusting in the Lord, not only does it affect the person with that mindset, it affects their family and the church as well. That’s why Paul the apostle addressed the issue of diligence in work. He elevated the dignity of labor in a culture that enforced other people to work for them. It is with that in mind that we look at our study titled, “Loving One Another By Being a Witness” in 1 Thessalonians 4 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

When we realize that God is the One who ultimately provides for our families, it is then that we begin to rest, even in the most challenging of circumstances. Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us that God allows these trials so that He can show His provision and His faithfulness to us. The end result is that we grow in trust, God is glorified, and others begin to see God’s faithfulness and trust in the Lord themselves. The title of our study is “Loving One Another By Being a Good Witness”. So join us for the next few moments in 1 Thessalonians 4 as we spend time in growing in Sound Doctrine.

On today’s edition of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff continues to show us three areas of our sexual lives that God wants to bless: their holiness, harmony, and honesty. As we learn that God’s ways are best for us, His Word will give us the direction to discover joy will in pursuing Him in an area that has taken many people down. Pastor Jeff tells us that the Lord has called us to holiness from the bondage that prevails in this world. And we need to guard our hearts and our kids’ hearts from a world that creates any kind of sexual desire on demand. With our study titled, “What About Sex,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 1 Thessalonians 4 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

When it comes to sexual attraction, sensuality, and the physical qualities of attraction, where do you take your cues from, the world or the Word? Even believers have tragically been ensnared by the allure of the world, pornography, and Hollywood. Pastor Jeff Johnson strongly cautions us to take extra care that we not only guard our actions, but our internal attitudes from sources that would stimulate our hearts away from God’s best will for us. As we continue to learn how to manage our desires before the Lord, we will discover God’s best for our lives. With more on that, let’s join Pastor Jeff in 1Thessalonians 4 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

Used as a metaphor in the Bible, your walk shows what direction you’re heading and how fast you’re getting there. There are many who walk alone. Many who walk fast or slow. But to the person who walks with God, they have a quality and a quantity of life in Christ that is separate from the world. Such is the case with sex and the Christian. Pastor Jeff Johnson shares that this is an area that should be characterized by holiness and harmony with God’s will so that it brings glory to God and fulfillment to His people. With more on that, join us in 1 Thessalonians 4 as we look at the study titled, “What About Sex?” in Sound Doctrine.

Jesus said, “If you only love those who love you, what credit is that to you?” But when you love your enemies, then your reward will be great and you will be sons and daughters of the Most High. As we continue to glean lessons from 1 Thessalonians we learn about those things that will cause us to maintain a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ and a powerful witness to others that will keep us from spiritual decline as well. The principles contained within these studies are impacting as we put them into practice. We encourage you to take notes so that you can utilize them right away. So join us as we finish lessons on “The Power of Prayer and Being Poured” with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

When it comes to some believer’s relationship with the Lord, there is the existence of apathy more than effectiveness. Pastor Jeff Johnson shares that God doesn’t allow His children to sit in apathy very long. That’s why Paul the apostle prayed for the Thessalonians to increase and abound in love to one another just as Paul abounded in love towards them. As we allow God to accomplish His work of refining so that we are effective, we will begin to see and hear God in areas of life we may not have heard before. So, if you have your Bible, please turn with us to 1 Thessalonians 3 as we look at “The Power of Prayer and Being Poured”

When it comes to prayer, do you find you don’t get the answers you expect? Is it possible that you don’t receive the desired answers because you don’t pray specifically enough? As Paul the apostle sought the well being of the church in Thessalonica, he asked God for specific things to do in their lives. Pastor Jeff reminds us in what ways these specific prayers can bring God glory as we are submitted to His will in our lives. With that in mind, let’s consider how God wants us to grow in the Power of Prayer and Being Poured with Pastor Jeff Johnson in 1  Thessalonians 3.

The key to going deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ is focused dissatisfaction. If we are dissatisfied with our level of spiritual growth, that will cause us to go further with Jesus. However, the opposite is true as well. If we are satisfied with material possessions and externals we will not focus on our spiritual growth. Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us that we should ask God to cause us to be dissatisfied so that our roots will go deeper in His agape love. With more on that, let’s go to 1 Thessalonians 3 for our time in the Word with Pastor Jeff Johnson.
