Spiritual Warfare and Angels Part 2a

We pull back the curtain in the spiritual realm today on Sound Doctrine as pastor Jeff Johnson digs deeper into Daniel chapter ten. There’s a lot we don’t know or understand in this whole area of spiritual warfare and angels, but this passage in Daniel gives us a glimpse. And after all is said and done, I think you’ll walk away with a much better understanding of the ministry of angels and work of demons too.

We’re in Genesis chapter 40 today. Hardship and sorrow may not be our favorite teacher but it’s an effective one. God knows it and uses it in our lives! Last time we began to hear of how God allowed Joseph to experience great sorrow. It came in the form of being horribly mistreated, falsely accused and imprisoned. Yet God uses it to accomplish His purposes. And I should add the Lord often does that in our lives.

We’ve got a great study from Genesis chapter 40 all set and ready to go, here today on Sound Doctrine. Americans by and large hate to wait. Whether it’s on the freeway or in the drive-through line, people are easily irritated while they wait. Today we’ll learn that God often has us in the waiting room, but while we’re waiting, He’s working! This shines through the story of Joseph.

Pastor Jeff Johnson is our Bible teacher, and about to open Genesis chapter 38. As you closely examine the family tree of Jesus, you quickly see it’s full of big time sinners. But this ought to encourage us. You see, we’re big sinners too. And God has the grace to meet us where we’re at, and adopt us into His family.

Join us in Genesis 38. Last time we heard a part of the story of Joseph, and his brothers selling him into slavery. Today we’ll pay particular attention to the older brother Judah. As you’ll see he made a series of very bad decisions that would lead to consequences. But through it all we’ll be reminded of God’s amazing grace. I think you’ll find it encouraging in light of your sin-stained past.

We’re in Genesis chapter 37 today, where Joseph finds himself in a pit! But soon he would be in a palace. And it is a brilliant reminder of how God uses everything in His children’s lives for good. Keep that in mind the next time your life is in the pits.
