How Did We get Here? Part IV

How did we get here?

Historical facts tell us where we were, where we are, and where we are heading. First, however, we must heed the warning from the cultural changes. Only dead fish go down downstream, but live fish goes up against the downstream. Most people give up because it takes an effort to swim upstream. What is the point? Some might ask. Think about a raindrop that can make a hole when it drops consistently and constantly over a period of time. Do not give up what God instilled in you!

Psalm 23
We live in a broken world with full of challenges, failures, and disappointments. As life continues, many unknowns lie before us that can weigh us down, inflicting wounds that often get buried or ignored. We have been created to thrive in our relationships with God, our family, our neighbors and ourselves. By knowing that God is our Good Shepherd, understanding the identity that we have as his precious sheep, we can find rest and healing in our souls. Through this humble book, Healing Through Psalm 23, may God comfort you who are suffering, who are in pain, who need forgiveness; may you know God, walk confidently and grow into the maturity of coming alongside others in their journey of healing.

Any shepherd knows that a sheep needs to be shaved when she has too much hair. According to Farmhouse.com, unsheared sheep encounter health issues; lack of blood circulation, possible matting and tangling, and infection from bugs inside the wool. In addition, unsheared mother sheep can not provide milk to lamb properly. (www.farmhouse.com) Sometimes she can die from unshaved wool. In some sense, bureaucracy is like a sheep's overgrown hair that needs to be shaved. As young as America, the beauty of this country is our hair is still short compared to countries with a long history.

How do Christians respond to the cultural changes? The Majority of church members go to work and experience the changes by the disrupted innovation and digitization. During Covid 19 era, we experienced structural changes in how we communicate, how we do school, work, and churches. From top to bottom, our experience is unfamiliar with significant cultural changes. So we have to learn the reason and search why and how we have to respond. The core value of staying strong as a Christian in transition does not sway by trusting God, who leads us and guides us while knowing and understanding the main reason for the change, helping us navigate our lives better.

Image of God in the contex of Ten Commendments Huawei, China, Russia, Ukraine…….and Covid 19 As we understand, economic power is shaped by the payment transaction system. Therefore, a faster, more efficient, and easier accessible transaction system will dominate the slower transaction system. That is why the Huawei system issue was sensitive. Ten Commandments are still essential regarding the Image of God as the time changes. “‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “‘You shall have no other gods before me. Pray for Ukraine Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:26-27) ...then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. (Genesis 2:7)

Do you believe human life is inherently valuable? Unfortunately, in the secularized age of state-sanctioned euthanasia and abortion-on-demand, many are losing faith in the simple value of human life. To the disillusioned, human beings are a cosmic accident whose intrinsic value is worth no more than other animals. The Death of Humanity explores our culture’s declining respect for the sanctity of human life, drawing on philosophy and history to reveal the dark road ahead for society if we lose our faith in human life. From the Inside Flap Does Human Life Matter? Many, today, think the answer is: no. It is not just abortion-on-demand (considered an indispensable right); it is the creeping idea that the disabled should have been aborted as “unproductive” human beings. It is state-sanctioned suicide. It is the dismissal of the elderly as drains on the healthcare system. The idea that human life is intrinsically valuable is dying side by side with our Christian culture, says author and intellectual historian Richard Weikart. He traces the dangerous trends in Western thinking that could spell what he calls The Death of Humanity. Richard Weikart is professor of modern European history at California State University, Stanislaus, and Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture. He has written six previous books, including From Darwin to Hitler, Hitler’s Ethic, The Death of Humanity, and Hitler’s Religion. He has lectured at many universities and other venues in the US and Europe. He has been interviewed on dozens of radio shows, podcasts, and TV, as well as appearing in seven documentaries, including “Expelled” with Ben Stein. Some of his lectures and interviews are available on youtube.

Darwinian Racism: How Darwinism Influenced Hitler, Nazism, and White Nationalism To hear some tell it, Adolf Hitler was a Christian creationist who rejected Darwinian evolution. Award-winning historian Richard Weikart shows otherwise. According to Weikart, Darwinian evolution crucially influenced Hitler and the Nazis, and the Nazis zealously propagated evolutionary theory during the Third Reich. Inspired by arguments from both Darwin and early Darwinists, the Nazis viewed the “Nordic race” as superior to other races and set about advancing human evolution by ridding the world of “inferior” races and individuals. As Weikart also shows, these ideas circulate today among white nationalists and neo-Nazis, who routinely use Darwinian theory in their propaganda to advance a racist agenda. Darwinian Racism is careful history. It is also a wake-up call. Richard Weikart is professor of modern European history at California State University, Stanislaus, and Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture.
