What is shame, and what is its purpose? Best-selling author and Christian counselor Ed Welch explores the topic of shame with FamilyLife Today co-host, Bob Lepine. While all of us have felt shame at one time or another, Ed explains how shame controls and often defines so many Christians' lives. Although often linked to our sexuality, there are so many other more subtle ways that shame is played out, reflected in thoughts like "I don't belong...I don't fit in....I'm marginalized. Who made Christmas famous? All the tinsel and glitter of the season might cause you to think Santa Claus. But as Christians, we know it's Jesus Christ whom we honor and celebrate on December 25. But why don't more of our decorations reflect that? Barbara Rainey talks more about her new resource, Adorenaments, which feature seven of Jesus' royal names designed into a shimmering crown. Barbara tells how these ornaments not only make beautiful decorations, but provide a way for parents to teach their children about Christ's majesty too. Ace Collins joins Barbara to explain more about the beautiful hymn Angels We Have Heard on High.

Is decorating your tree with Santas, snowmen and elves getting a little humdrum? While cute, none of those reflect what the Christmas season truly is all about. For over 20 years Barbara Rainey wanted to adorn her home at Christmas in a way that focused on Christ, but couldn't find much in the stores to help her. So she got busy and created her own decorations that would reflect her faith. Barbara talks about her new resources, Adore Hymns and Adorenaments, while Ace Collins reveals the meaning behind God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Do you prefer the ease of a artificial tree? Or the aroma of a real one? No matter your preference, both are beautiful once they're decorated. Wanting to proclaim Christ during the holiday season, Barbara Rainey tells how she came up with the idea of "Adore Hymns," a set of Christmas ornaments designed to help us display and more deeply enjoy our favorite Christmas hymns. Joining her is author Ace Collins to tell us a little bit about the history of the Christmas tree.
