Barbara Rainey recalls one particularly cold Christmas with holiday guests that had all the family members coming down with cabin fever, and Dennis fondly recalls the gag gifts his family used to exchange. Barbara, along with Tracey Eyster, Creator and Editor of MomLifeToday.com, share some creative ways for families to keep the focus on Christ during the holidays.

Kids need to know they’re loved, but they also need hope. Children’s author, Sally Lloyd-Jones, explains that children are easily discouraged when they sense they aren’t getting it right. Sally tells how her book, “Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing,” invites children to see what God – the creator of everything, says about them, His true masterpieces. Sally wants children to know that God will turn everything bad into good in the end, and that the best is yet to come. Sally tells how she became a children’s writer, and shares her perspective on American children today.

Sometimes one bold, courageous step can lead to a higher calling and purpose. Such is the case for Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of “The Jesus Storybook Bible.” Sally recalls how her father sent her off to boarding school at the tender age of eight with the words of Joshua 1, “Be strong and very courageous.” Though ill and terribly frightened at the time, Sally was sure that God was going ahead of her. Sally tells how those years of boarding school stretched her imagination and helped mold her into the writer she is today.
