April 29, 2019

Could arguing about money be negatively affecting your intimacy? Brian and Cherie Lowe, authors of "Your Money, Your Marriage," think it can. It certainly did theirs. The Lowes tell how they found themselves $127,000 in debt. After Brian cast a vision for what their life could be debt-free, they started paying off their bills, and as they did, their love life began improving. Ron and Jody Zappia might have looked like a couple that had it all together, but their marriage was falling apart. After Ron's infidelity, Jody sought comfort at a local church, and instead of finding a reason to leave the marriage, she found a reason to live, with Christ's help. Marshall Segal talks to singles about the purpose of dating. Segal, who admits to having his share of dating regrets before finally meeting and marrying his wife, encourages singles to slow down and thoroughly get to know the person they are interested in. Singles should try and enfold the person into their community of family and friends, and plan activities they can do in a group setting.

Marshall Segal, a writer and managing editor for DesiringGod.org, knows that most singles want to get married. But how do they prepare for that day, especially when they're not dating? Segal encourages young women to wait on the Lord and keep their eyes open for men who love godliness. You want a man to love Jesus first and foremost. No one is calling you to be joyful about singleness, but joy can still be found in the presence of Christ.
