Do your kids know how to think critically? John Stonestreet, author of "A Practical Guide to Culture," talks about hot button issues of our culture—like pornography, promiscuity, sexual orientation, and gender identity—and teaches parents how to engage their kids around these topics.
December 13, 2017
Today's youth are bombarded by information, yet they lack the necessary tools to discern and navigate the cultural waters. John Stonestreet, Colson Center president, believes kids need to rely on their parents to help them distinguish the lies from the truth. Stonestreet encourages parents to gather the family around the dinner table (minus the screens) and to spend time connecting with their kids in and out of the kitchen.

John Stonestreet, president of the Colson Center and host of "BreakPoint," tells how advancements are changing our society for the good and bad. Stonestreet reminds listeners we aren't the first generation to face a broken culture. Believers have to decide how to interact within society, and how to live out their convictions despite the world's brokenness.

Author Sally Lloyd-Jones tells about her calling as a children's author and stresses the importance of reading and connecting with children. In her latest book, "Baby Wren and the Great Gift," a tiny wren is in awe of the incredible creatures that surround her, all the while wishing she had a special gift to share. As she marvels at the beauty around her, she discovers a unique talent that’s been inside her all along.

Popular children's author Sally Lloyd-Jones gets us in the spirit of the holidays by recalling the Christmases of her youth in Africa and England. Her book, "Song of the Stars," recounts the birth of Christ.

Ann Voskamp, author of "The Broken Way," shares her heart for the suffering Christian refugees in Iraq. Voskamp talks about the thrill of "giving it forward." Whether it's through a smile, a financial blessing, or a cup of cold water to someone who's thirsty, we can always find ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
December 6, 2017
Ann Voskamp, a wife and mother of seven, talks about the meaninglessness of creating a bucket list with exotic places to visit when God calls believers to empty their bucket on others by showering them with love and good deeds. Voskamp elaborates on the beauty of a life poured out on behalf of our ultimate treasure—Jesus Christ.
December 5, 2017
Best-selling author Ann Voskamp talks about the blessing of thanking God in the hard times. She recalls her earliest memory of seeing her sister killed in a farm accident. The pain and fear of that experience caused her to cut herself in her teen years. Voskamp reminds us that God loves us in and through our brokenness, and it is from that place of brokenness that we can give thanks most powerfully.

Lou Priolo, biblical counselor and author of "Resolving Conflict," reminds us that nothing is more important than patience when we're resolving conflict. Priolo defines patience as the ability to accept a difficult situation from the Lord, to suffer long, and to endure. We need to be as patient with others as God is with us, realizing that our spouse, or our circumstances, won't likely change overnight.
December 1, 2017
Biblical counselor Lou Priolo opens the Scriptures to Ephesians 4 to understand the benefits of humility and gentleness when resolving conflict. A proud person always sees the speck in another's eye, but never sees their own sin, which only intensifies conflict. A humble person doesn't seek revenge but rather looks at themselves first and asks for forgiveness for how they have failed to live up to God's standard.
