Devotionals by Ron L. Deal
We’re making plans for another Facebook Livestream just for women in blended families. Join Gayla Grace and Cheryl Shumake on Tuesday, March 14th at 3:00 CT for a spring edition as we talk about new beginnings and practical steps for building relationships.
Women often feel responsible for tension in the home when relationships don’t come together as we want. But we can transform our minds and clean out our cobwebs (wrong expectations and misguided thoughts) that keep us captive to negative emotions when relationship building slows down.
Make plans now to join us as we talk about how to trust God in new ways and open our hearts to His plan for our blended family.
The world suggests we need more self-esteem. We all understand the importance of self-esteem and the significance it plays in people’s lives.
But what about “God-esteem?” That’s actually more important. God-esteem is what we believe about ourselves when we realize and accept our worth in God, not because of what we’ve done to obtain His approval, but because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
At the core of a healthy Christian marriage are two people who fully submit themselves to God. When you accept your worth in Jesus Christ, you can honor your spouse, cope with struggles, and even disagree about your family life, without fear of personal rejection, because your identity is secure. You are not dependent on your partner for your sense of self, but on your God.
Read on to learn more about the value of God-esteem for your blended family marriage.
