Pastor Al is currently taking us on a wonderful journey through the Psalms, and today we’ll stop once again in Psalm twenty-nine. God’s voice is portrayed as a powerful thunderstorm here. It’s only but a mere example. For the power of God’s voice is far greater.

Someone said, “because of our first love there’s no time for second opinions.” Many have their opinions on how we’re to live – but because we love the Lord – it’s our desire to live in a way that pleases him – and in the end we will be vindicated. And that’s the focus of Psalm twenty-six.

Contemporary academia has their view on the origins of man and the universe. But how do they know? They don’t. At best they can only theorize because they were not there. But God was there, and He reveals in His word that Jesus is the creator and the sustainer. Why the reluctance by so many to accept this truth? Today as we look at Acts chapter twelve, we’ll see what happened to Peter when he was arrested, and his friends started praying for him.

Jesus is truly the good Shepherd but is He your Shepherd? Psalm twenty-three is no doubt one of the best-loved texts in the entirety of Scripture. It describes how we can come under the Shepherds care! We are like sheep and sheep need a shepherd. It’s why we are always in need. The Lord knows, and He is close at hand in His care of us.
