Psalm 6-7

There are a lot of reasons why obeying God makes sense. From a practical point of view, we can say that since God invented the entire earth and everything on it, it figures He knows the best way to operate everything on it! There are other good reasons for obeying God, including the wonderful blessings it brings. Today we again look at Psalm six.

An athlete must trust his instincts and talents in order to succeed. the same is true for you and me, in a different way. As Christians, we must trust God and God alone in order to get through the inevitable hard times that we face in life. Too often we a think we’re all alone when we face a trial in life. Nothing could be further from the truth! That’s what our study is about today. Join us in Psalm four.

God will lovingly chasten His children to get them back on track in life. Earlier this week we began a series of messages in the book of Psalms. It’s especially comforting for the Christian to turn to God’s Word in times of trial. We’re predisposed as humans to think we must rely on our own strength to endure a trial, but nothing could be further from the truth. When we face a struggle, we should automatically turn to God for wisdom and help. Pastor Al Pittman's study today is in Psalms two.

Today on The Dwelling Place, we’re going to once again be reminded that the very best way to glorify God and to serve Him is to get our eyes off of ourselves and onto God. Pastor Al Pittman has just begun a series in the Psalms. In fact, we just began this series yesterday. Pastor Al gave us an introduction to this wonderful book last time, and today we being with the opening verses of Psalm one.

Today on The Dwelling Place, we’ll begin an journey through the wonderful Old Testament book of Psalms. Over the course of history, many beautiful and emotional songs have been written and recited, but none can compare with the beauty and outpouring of love we’ll see. There are one hundred fifty of these beautiful expressions of man’s love for God and heartfelt prayers. Some are better known that others, but they all deserve our scrutiny.

Every one of us needs encouragement from time to time. There is no better place to turn to for encouragement than the bible, and today we will look at Romans chapter five. Our sin keeps us from an eternity with God. It’s like an unreachable wall that serrated us from God and His love. How can we break down that wall? We can’t, and we don’t have to because Jesus already did.

It’s wonderfully encouraging to be reminded of God’s unfailing love. Though we may fail in our love - God never fails in His! We all know the story of Peter’s denial but that’s not the end of the story. The Lord restoring Peter is a great example of God never giving up on us. And we’ll be reminded of that today. We’ll see how Peter is restored in his relationship as evidenced by his humble response to Jesus.
