God our Refuge pt 1

This world is changing a lot, and we see the changes every day. But some things haven’t changed. For centuries Israel has been under attack, and has sought refuge in God’s safe arms. The Psalmist who wrote Psalm one twenty wrote some of his most eloquent words on this subject, and we’ll take a look at some of them today on The Dwelling Place with pastor Al Pittman.

The bottom line truth we find in Psalm 119 is that the Psalmist has discovered, just as we can, that God’s word contains everything we need in the way of advice and direction for a happy, prosperous life. The world will try to sell you the latest self help book, or try to get you to go to the latest “seminar”, but none of them can hold a candle to what we find in God’s word.

If you have children, especially if they’re teenagers, you know how important it is that they keep company with the right kind of friends. Peer pressure has been a problem for us humans since the beginning of time. When we consider our relationship with God, it’s also important for us to surround ourselves with committed believers.

The longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119 is our topic this week. It’s a beautiful testimony by the Psalmist about God’s wonderful love, and His powerful word.
