When Moses saw the people worshiping the golden calf, he was so angry that he threw down the stone tablets of God and broke them. Then he ordered the death of those who persisted in their idolatry.

When the Israelites made the golden calf, they were not switching gods; they wanted a physical representation of the God they had a covenant with. But the Lord does not allow a visual representation of Himself.

Exodus 31 introduces us to Bezalel, an artisan who was gifted by God for the work on the temple. When God calls people to do something, He also gives them the desire and the ability to do that work.
