The Sealed Judgments, Part 1

December 19, 2018

Especially around Christmas time, We tend to have a picture in our minds of a gentle Jesus, meek, mild and loving.  The book of Revelation depicts a different side of our Lord and Savior.  In chapters 6-19 we learn about the wrath of the lamb.   One day the judgment of God will come upon a Christ-rejecting world in the Tribulation period.

As the apostle John is ushered up into heaven for a look around he described what he saw.  And today on a Daily Walk we’ll notice that he focuses on a scroll in the right hand of the Father.  The question is asked, "Who is worthy to take the scroll?"  And as we’ll discover today, the answer is Jesus, the lamb of God.

The central focus in Revelation chapter four is the throne of God.  Really all of creation revolves around the throne.  Jesus is Lord and in control, working all things together according to His will and good purposes.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll focus on what’s coming from the throne, a preview of the judgement to come.

In many parts of the country the hot weather in the summer can be unbearable at times, but here in the Winter months not enough heat can be a problem.  Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall continues his look at the Lord’s letter to the Laodiceans in Revelation three, verses fourteen through twenty-two. In this case, heat would be a good thing. The Lord wanted his churches to be on fire for the Gospel, but the Laodiceans were lukewarm. In many respects, this is worse than being completely cold, and we’ll find out why on today’s program.

Those of you coffee lovers, might prefer your coffee hot, or cold.  But if someone hands you a lukewarm cup of coffee you’re probably going to send it back!  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll begin a look at the last of the seven letters to the churches in Revelation, this one to the church in Laodicea. The Laodiceans had several problems, but the biggest was their “lukewarm” temperature. Exactly what that means is the subject of today’s broadcast.

What does a healthy church look like?  Maybe in your mind, you associate that with how many people attend on any given weekend, or the size of the building.  But Jesus looks at it far differently. Today on a Daily Walk we’ll finish our study of the Lord’s letter to the church of Philadelphia, in Revelation chapter three verses seven through thirteen. This letter is full of good news and encouragement to a body of believers who were faithful.

Imagine being on the receiving end of a letter from the Lord that was full of commendations and encouragement to keep doing what you’re doing!  Wouldn’t that feel great?   We’ll be looking at the Lord’s letter to the church in Philadelphia, found in Revelation chapter three, verses seven through thirteen.  They received such a letter, and we’ll look at that today on the broadcast, so we too can please the Lord with our lives.

When we begin a relationship with Christ, typically we’re on a great spiritual high, our love of the Lord is where it should be, and we’re depending on the Spirit of God to help us grow.  Then over time, there can be the tendency of growing cold, and even dying spiritually.  Discover what to do when you’re in that condition today on a Daily Walk.
December 6, 2018
If the Lord were to write a letter to you, what do you suppose He would say?  Would He describe your condition in terms of death or life? Would He have good things to say, or not so much? Join us for a study in Revelation three today on a Daily Walk, as pastor John Randall has a look at what Jesus has to say to the church in Sardis. There’s no mystery at all about the Lord’s displeasure with the things going on in this church. They were dead!
