There are many landmark events described in the Bible and this is certainly one of them in Acts nine. Here we find the conversion of Saul later to be known as the apostle Paul. It’s without a doubt a pivotal point in world history.  Just think of all that God accomplished through Paul the apostle!  You can’t help but see the grace of God woven throughout this story of life change.

I know of some families who have recently gone through the adoption process. Maybe you’ve adopted a child or two yourself? Obviously an adopted child will receive all the blessings and benefits that go with being apart of that particular family.  Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see that Christians have been adopted into the family of God.  What exactly does that mean for you and me?  Turn to Romans eight and find out.

Have you ever been setup… by God?  If you’re a Christian you probably have, even if you haven’t noticed it.  Maybe there you are on an airplane and you’re seated next to someone who doesn’t know the Lord and God is prompting you to say something.  Or perhaps you share a simple verse with someone not knowing what they’re going through and it was just what they needed to hear!  Today we’ll see God setup a meeting for Phillip and it’s a wonderful example of how God works in our daily walk!

Pastor John Randall is in the middle of a study in Acts. We're in chapter eight today. Phillip has just preached the gospel in Samaria, a revival breaks out, and a large number are saved.  In this midst of this great work of God enter onto the scene Simon.  At one time he professed faith in God and was baptized, but at this point in his life he made a terrible mistake… he thought he could purchase the gift of God!  Did he have a false faith? Was he self-decieved?   We'll find out.

While many are choosing to bow in the wrong direction today, we as believers have a great opportunity to stand… for Jesus.  As we do, we may be persecuted like the man we’ll meet today on a Daily Walk.  But know this, when we stand for Jesus, He’ll stand for us.  That’s what we see in the story of Stephen in Acts chapters six and seven.

It truly is admirable when someone takes a stand for the truth when the pressure is on.  We’ll meet one such man today and his name is Stephen.  He was actually the first martyr of the Christian church.  We’re about to hear his final sermon on his last day on earth and allow this to encourage you to take a stand for Jesus at a time in human history where it’s desperately needed!

Murmuring and complaining… the children of Israel were known for that as they traversed through the dessert.  It was also a problem that threatened to split the early church!  And in case you haven’t noticed it’s still around today!  We approach Acts chapter six on this Friday edition of a Daily Walk. It’s there we hear of a problem that has developed in this growing Church. How they addressed it is very instructive for us today.

Are you having a bad day?  Maybe things just aren’t going the way you’d like it to.  Today on a Daily Walk receive some wonderful encouragement from the Scriptures.  We’re told in Acts five that the apostles were severely beaten and commanded not to speak of Jesus any longer.  How did they respond to this?  We’re told they rejoiced and considered it an honor to suffer for the name of Christ.  Pastor John Randall will urge us to carry this Christ-like attitude and response through life and the Pandemic.
