A Declaration of Deity Part 2

Imagine being blind from birth... never able to see your loved ones, or see the sunrise, and set, or anything else for that matter. Then, in an instant, you receive your sight. The feeling that would accompany that experience would be hard to put into words! Today on a Daily Walk we will be introduced to a blind man who experienced the healing touch of the master’s hand. A couple of key questions we’ll be considering today as we get back into our study of John and along the way you’ll discover something we can be truly thankful for... the forgiveness of Jesus. In John chapter eight - we find Jesus displaying the tender mercies of God to a young woman caught in a very embarrassing sin that could cost her very own life. She was brought before Jesus by the Pharisees who had a wrong view of authority, of the scriptures, and especially of people.

In John chapter eight we find some religious leaders bringing to Jesus a young woman they caught in the very act of adultery. They were looking to condemn her. How Jesus responds perfectly answers the question of what God is like and how we should treat those in sin.

I think it’s safe to say most of us want to be well liked by others. But maybe you’ve noticed, if you live for the Lord and walk as Jesus walked, not everyone will pat you on the back. In fact, at times we’ll be hated. The world hated Jesus, and even His own family rejected Him. And we can expect similar treatment as well. Today on a Daily Walk that comes to our attention through a study in John seven.

When we’re hungry, we know what to do..... we either open the fridge and cook something up, or go out to eat and satisfy our hunger that way. But what do we do with our spiritual hunger? As we’ll see today on a Daily Walk, not everyone goes about trying to satisfy it the right way. In fact, most don’t. When a storm hits our lives, like the Lion in the Wizard of Oz, we often lack the courage we need to make it through. Instead we frequently resort to worry and fear. Today on a Daily Walk you’ll meet the Lord of the Sea who can help us through anything we face in life. When we left you last time, Jesus had just fed thousands of people with merely five loaves and two fish. Following this, comes another incredible miracle. Jesus is about to walk on water and teach his disciples, and us, yet another valuable lesson.

John chapter six will be the centerpiece of our study. Imagine hosting a get together, and discover that you don’t have enough food to go around. That would be quite embarrassing, right? But in our day and age the problem could probably be rectified by making a trip to the grocery store, or making a phone call to a local restaurant. This luxury wasn’t available in the days of Christ, making what we’re about to read even more astounding. Five loaves and two fish. Perhaps enough to feed a couple of people, but certainly not five thousand, right? Nothing is impossible for God as you'll hear today.
