Through The Bible - Acts 15 - Part 3

Acts Chapter 15 brings us to an important moment in the early church. Answering a question having eternal consequences: Is salvation by God's grace alone, or must people earn it by keeping the law? Coming up, Pastor Brett Meador reinforces from Today’s Word why grace, not works, is the foundation of our faith and salvation. He begins with some background for the discussion.

Scene: A crowded shopping mall. Sarah, a frantic shopper, is struggling with multiple bags and a crying toddler in a stroller. Mark, an elderly man sitting on a nearby bench, notices her distress.

Sarah (to herself, frustratedly): Oh, where did I put those car keys? They were just in my pocket! (She rummages through her bags, the toddler's cries getting louder.)

Mark (gently): Excuse me, dear. You look like you could use a hand.

Sarah (startled, then relieved): Oh, thank you! I've lost my keys, and my little one is exhausted.

Mark: Don't you worry. Why don't you sit down here for a moment? I'll keep an eye on your bags while you take a breather and check your stroller.

Sarah (gratefully): You're a lifesaver. (She sits down, tends to the toddler, and eventually finds her keys tucked into the side pocket of the stroller.) Found them! Thank you so much for your kindness.

Mark (smiling): It's my pleasure. We all need a little help sometimes. Have a safe trip home.

Sarah: I will. Thank you again! (She heads towards the exit, feeling much lighter and more composed.)
