Get ready to fight the good fight against legalism in Galatians. When this letter was written, it defended the gospel of Christ from people who wanted to reduce it to rules. Not surprising, Galatians has provided the backbone for several great spiritual revivals around the world. Freedom, we learn, is a serious fight. Allow grace to revolutionize your own life through these seven lessons from Dr. J. Vernon McGee.

If you watch the news, you’re well aware of the evil in our world. And if you believe the commentators, you might be tempted to think evil is winning. But here is the good news we’ll hear in this final study of Hosea: God always wins. So hop aboard the Bible Bus as we hear more about the unfailing love and mercy of our gracious Lord.

Israel is in big trouble. Their prosperity is blinding them from their true condition, they blame the government for the troubles in their own hearts, and they are trying to out-do each other in calf worship. How will God respond? Find out as our study of Hosea continues in chapter 10.

Even though there is still prosperity in the land of Israel, the people are sinning more, but enjoying it less. Does that sound familiar? Dr. J. Vernon McGee gives us a front row seat to what happened in Hosea’s day, and how he thinks it parallels what’s going on in the world today.

Prosperity blinded Israel. And in our continuing study of Hosea our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, shares that he believes America’s prosperity has also led us to a false sense of security. Find out why as we travel the pages of Hosea chapter 8.

“It is one thing to sin in secret—that is bad enough—but it is even worse to bring your sin out in the open and flaunt it before the world.” That’s the advice we’ll hear from Dr. J. Vernon McGee in our continuing study of the book of Hosea. Witness the wickedness of the kings and leaders in Hosea’s day and compare their similarities to those today.

The only sure foundation we have in this changing world is our Lord Jesus Christ. If you wonder what that means for the United States as a nation, and each of us personally, then you’ve come to the right place as our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, answers that question with clarity in this study of Hosea chapters 5 and 6.

About Dr. J. Vernon McGee

John Vernon McGee was born in Hillsboro, Texas, in 1904. Dr. McGee remarked, "When I was born and the doctor gave me the customary whack, my mother said that I let out a yell that could be heard on all four borders of Texas!" His Creator well knew that he would need a powerful voice to deliver a powerful message.

After completing his education (including a Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary), he and his wife came west, settling in Pasadena, California. Dr. McGee's greatest pastorate was at the historic Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles, where he served from 1949 to 1970.

He began teaching Thru the Bible in 1967. After retiring from the pastorate, he set up radio headquarters in Pasadena, and the radio ministry expanded rapidly. Listeners never seem to tire of Dr. J. Vernon McGee's unique brand of rubber-meets-the-road teaching, or his passion for teaching the whole Word of God.

On the morning of December 1, 1988, Dr. McGee fell asleep in his chair and quietly passed into the presence of his Savior.
