1 John 2:12-17, Part 3
Why Should Believers Love Not the World Part 3
[ 0m0s400ms - 0m3s990ms ]
Gideon Levytam: This study of 1 John chapter 2.
[ 0m3s990ms - 0m48s990ms ] But I will repent and turn back to Yeshua the Messiah and follow after him.
Gideon Levytam: Lord help me.
[ 0m50s10ms - 0m52s890ms ] They would say, I cannot do it on my own.
[ 0m53s770ms - 0m55s120ms ] And the Lord will help them.
Gideon Levytam: I am writing unto you, young men, because you overcome the wicked one.
[ 1m1s590ms - 1m5s700ms ] And I can tell you, Satan is vicious, he's wicked.
Gideon Levytam: Sin will take us further than we ever wanted to get there.
[ 1m12s650ms - 1m13s550ms ] That's what he does.
Gideon Levm: He lead us, the people of God, further than we ever planned to get to, because he's like wooing us, drawing us, pulling us away from the things of God into the things of this evil system, the things of this world.
Gideon Levytam: And how sad it is when we fail and stumble instead of listening to the Lord, listening to Satan, and then later on we say, oh boy, I should have listened to the Lord.
[ 1m46s430ms - 1m49s380ms ] I should have waited for Yeshua the Messiah's counsel.
Gideon Levytam: But instead, I've listened to the voice of Satan.
[ 1m53s30ms - 1m57s320ms ] And by the way, brothers and sisters, this is exactly what happened in the garden of Eden.
Gideon Levytam: Eve was beguiled by Satan, saying to her, has God said, is really God's word correct?
[ 2m7s576ms - 2m17s496ms ] And you know, she had been beguiled, and Adam, her husband, end up to disobey the Lord. And as we know the story very well how sin entered into this world.
Gideon Levytam: Satan is not someone to play with.
[ 2m20s716ms - 2m24s666ms ] He's clever, but God is greater than him.
Gideon Levytam: Yeshua is greater than him.
[ 2m26s646ms - 2m28s706ms ] So, young men and young women, he's saying, I write unto you.
[ 2m30s306ms - 2m31s96ms ] Why?
Gideon Levytam: Because you successfully have overcome Satan.
[ 2m37s456ms - 2m43s36ms ] And as we know from Revelation chapter 12, you overcome him by the blood of the Lamb.
Gideon Levytam: Looking unto Yeshua, the author and the finisher of our faith.
[ 2m47s76ms - 2m51s336ms ] But notice the third group here in verse 13 is the little children.
Gideon Levytam: Now, this time again, it's a different word.
[ 2m54s566ms - 2m59s946ms ] It's no longer technion, but it is paldion, it's a different word.
Gideon Levytam: And here it's really speaking about babies in the Messiah, little children.
[ 3m5s76ms - 3m6s576ms ] Yeledim, you would say in Hebrew.
[ 3m7s936ms - 3m13s196ms ] Those are the one notice, he said, I write unto you, little children, because you have known the Father.
Gideon Levytam: You see, they are the ones who says, daddy, Abba, Abba, Abba, help me.
[ 3m16s716ms - 3m17s366ms ] Abba, carry me.
Gideon Levytam: Abba, show me.
[ 3m18s736ms - 3m19s506ms ] Abba, give me.
Gideon Levytam: Abba.
[ 3m20s26ms - 3m22s226ms ] In other words, they are just reborn.
Gideon Levytam: And just became part of the family of God.
[ 3m25s26ms - 3m33s906ms ] We have some of those in our midst in our Bible studies, those who just became believers, maybe six months ago, maybe a year ago, two years ago, they are young believers.
Gideon Levytam: Now, it has nothing to do with age.
[ 3m37s16ms - 3m43s876ms ] You can be 95 years of age and be a newborn babe if you just accepted Yeshua the Messiah today.
Gideon Levytam: It has nothing to do with age.
Gideon Levytam: And you can have a child that is very young age when he or she were seven years old, they've accepted Yeshua.
[ 3m53s296ms - 3m58s436ms ] And now they are 35 years old, they are already 20, 30 years in their faith.
[ 3m59s206ms - 4m3s996ms ] And they are much more mature than believers who just accepted the Lord.
Gideon Levytam: It doesn't matter what age they have accepted the Lord, become a newborn babe.
[ 4m7s16ms - 4m14s36ms ] And you see, these ones, according to verse 13, they know the Father, they just became children of God.
[ 4m14s766ms - 4m18s646ms ] Sons and daughters among the family of God, just need to grow.
Gideon Levytam: And you know what, brothers and sisters, we need newborn babies.
[--G4m23s826ms - 4m26s646ms ] And we need fathers, and we need young men, young women.
[ 4m27s376ms - 4m28s376ms ] We need all those three.
Gideon Levytam: We need new believers to come in, and we need young men, growing on, and young women for the Lord, and we need mothers and fathers who are there to counsel us, to assist us, to help us to be established in the faith, like Devorah, mother in Israel, like Yochanan, a father among the believers in Yeshua the Messiah.
[ 4m49s76ms - 4m51s676ms ] So this is verse 13, very important verse.
Gideon Levytam: And by the way, I got to read that because in 1 Corinthians chapter 13, Paul said, and I'm reading just this verse 11, when I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child.
[ 5m4s786ms - 5m11s686ms ] I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Gideon Levytam: As young men, young women, I now put away childish things, and I seek to follow Yeshua the Messiah.
[ 5m21s30ms - 5m23s980ms ] So now let's go back to our chapter, 1 John chapter 2.
[ 5m24s370ms - 5m33s610ms ] Verse 14, and the third verse here, in verse 14, has to do with John repeating what he already wrote, but he adds something else.
Gideon Levytam: He made a little changes here in verse 14.
[ 5m36s540ms - 5m43s240ms ] And in verse 13, he says, I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning.
Gideon Levytam: I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abideth in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
Gideon Levytam: Now, you notice, in this second portion of John repeating what he wrote, he number one eliminated the little children.
[ 6m1s610ms - 6m1s910ms ] Why?
Gideon Levytam: Because he understood that the little children need to grow and it's natural.
[ 6m7s260ms - 6m17s330ms ] When you become a newborn baby in Yeshua the Messiah, it is of necessity for you naturally to grow and to mature and to become stronger in the Lord.
Gideon Levytam: But he did make a change with regard to the young men.
Gideon Levytam: When it's come to the fathers, he repeated the very same thing that he said in verse 13.
Gideon Levytam: He said, I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning.
[ 6m32s830ms - 6m34s320ms ] He didn't change anything here.
[ 6m35s140ms - 6m36s530ms ] Why he didn't change?
Gideon Levytam: Because you cannot go any higher than knowing him that is from the beginning.
[ 6m45s680ms - 6m53s510ms ] Once you have arrived, you might say, there's nothing more to know, you can only know more of him and more of him and more of him, you can never exhaust him.
Gideon Levytam: So, when it's come to the fathers, he says, listen, you know him that is from the beginning.
Gideon Levytam: But when it is come to the young men and young women, he adds something that is very important.
Gideon Levytam: He says, I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abideth in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
[ 7m19s550ms - 7m23s860ms ] You see, in verse 13, he already said that you have overcome the wicked one.
[ 7m24s590ms - 7m26s160ms ] But how do we overcome the wicked one?
Gideon Levytam: Satan attacks his people, the people of God.
[ 7m30s160ms - 7m36s450ms ] How can we overcome Satan and all his vicious attack against the people of God?
Gideon Levytam: Well, look at it.
[ 7m38s30ms - 7m39s990ms ] We must be strong.
[ 7m41s140ms - 7m42s590ms ] Not strong in ourselves.
Gideon Levytam: But like Ephesians 6 says, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, Ephesians chapter 6.
Gideon Levytam: And then he adds in verse 14 about the young men.
[ 7m57s510ms - 8m3s660ms ] He says, not only that you are strong, but the word of God abideth in you.
Gideon Levytam: In other words, these young men and women are appropriated the word of God, the Tanak, the Brisha, the scripture, God's word, they have appropriated this word of God into their lives.
Gideon Levytam: You know, the word of God changes us.
[ 8m24s140ms - 8m25s800ms ] It convicts us.
Gideon Levytam: And sometimes, I know our hearts and our conscience are seared, are hardened.
Gideon Levytam: But if we allow the spirit of God to speak to us and our hearts are not seared, and not hardened as a rock, when it's softened by the spirit of God, the word of God abide in us and enable us to overcome the wicked one by being strengthened with Yeshua the Messiah and his word in our lives.
Gideon Levytam: And this is exactly what Yochanan is saying to these three levels of believers, in verses 12, 13 and 14.
[ 9m8s680ms - 9m20s500ms ] They are not to love the world, the evil system of this world, which is headed up by Satan himself, because they are born ones of God.
Gideon Levytam: They are part of the family of the Father, the family of God.
Gideon Levytam: And on the basis of being born again, born from above, having your Holy Spirit of God indwelling them, they don't need to love this evil system.
[ 9m36s780ms - 9m42s630ms ] They are to love the Father, to love the Son, to love the family of God.
Gideon Levytam: And seek to live for him here in this world.
Gideon Levytam: So the very first reason, beloved brothers and sisters, why the believers are not to love the world is because we are born again, born from above.
[ 9m57s390ms - 10m1s640ms ] We belong to God, we have completely different nature.
Gideon Levytam: In additional to the old nature, we have a new nature.
Gideon Levytam: The old nature is sinful, the new nature is divine, is from God, and we belong to him.
Gideon Levytam: And so now here is the next verses.
[ 10m14s630ms - 10m16s130ms ] We have three more verses.
Gideon Levytam: Verses 15 and 16, here's the second reason why the people of God are not to love the world.
[ 10m25s780ms - 10m31s10ms ] It is simply because of what the world is doing to God's people.
Gideon Levytam: What this evil system is doing to the people of God.
Gideon Levytam: And he's now showing this to us in verses 15 and 16.
Gideon Levytam: First of all, in verse 15, he's speaking about this world's system that hates God and take away the affection of the believers from God, from Yeshua.
Gideon Levytam: And instead of setting our affection on him, we often set our affection upon other things.
Gideon Levytam: And so we read here in verse 15, love not the world.
Gideon Levytam: Neither the things that are in the world.
Gideon Levytam: If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Gideon Levytam: You notice, brothers and sisters, here, he's using three times the word for world, the same word cosmos.
Gideon Levytam: But this time, he's speaking about this evil system and he's saying, love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
[ 11m28s490ms - 11m31s210ms ] If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Gideon Levytam: You see, what happened?
Gideon Levytam: When the people of God began to have their affection set on other things, and not on God, and not on Yeshua the Messiah, how can the love of the Father be in the believer when he's so much in love with the system of this world?
Gideon Levytam: You know, there's someone who's heading this system.
[ 11m56s340ms - 11m56s980ms ] Namely Satan.
Gideon Levytam: He's the one that introduced all kind of things.
Gideon Levytam: Sometimes music, and he's introducing all kind of things to draw us away from the Lord.
[ 12m6s10ms - 12m15s870ms ] You oftentimes find that even young people spend so much time to listen to the music from the world instead of the music that has to do with glorifying Yeshua the Messiah.
Gideon Levytam: It's not that we cannot listen to some music.
[ 12m18s440ms - 12m23s810ms ] The point is that much of the music existing today in this world draw us away from God.
Gideon Levytam: And other things that can be taken away from the things of the Lord.
[ 12m28s650ms - 12m31s170ms ] And he's telling them, he's warning them.
Gideon Levytam: He says, listen, if any man love the world, he's speaking about believers, the love of the Father is not in him.
Gideon Levytam: How can we have the love of the Father in our life when all our minds and our thoughts are filled with all the world systems ways, in which they are presented before us.
Gideon Levytam: So God have taken us away from this world in order that our heart's affection will not be in love with this system.
Gideon Levytam: Sometimes even friends, people who are friends, they are drawing us away from the things of the Lord.
[ 13m12s380ms - 13m13s920ms ] You know, it's happened to us.
Gideon Levytam: We know that.
[ 13m14s630ms - 13m22s800ms ] Good friend, instead of drawing them to come to read the scripture, then to learn about Yeshua the Messiah, they are drawing us away from the Lord.
Gideon Levytam: And you know, once they use our time and our energy, when they don't need us, they say, goodbye.
[ 13m29s810ms - 13m30s980ms ] I don't need you anymore.
Gideon Levytam: And that's the way it is.
Gideon Levytam: The Bible teaches us about earthly friends, that often time, one day it soothe them, the next day it doesn't soothe them.
Gideon Levytam: One day they are friends, when they don't need us, they cast us away.
[ 13m44s490ms - 13m53s820ms ] This is the kind of the system that is simply only used the people of God only for a season, and then when they don't need him, they just allow him to go away.
Gideon Levytam: I think about Luke chapter 15, the man that went down.
[ 13m58s550ms - 14m5s60ms ] You remember that young boy that left his father and went away.
Gideon Levytam: And you know, he had many friends when he left the father.
Gideon Levytam: When he says, Abba, give me what belonged to me.
[ 14m8s300ms - 14m12s400ms ] He took all the things that belonged to him, and the father gave it to him to show him, I love you.
Gideon Levytam: But I'm going to show you what is the experience of one that go away from me.
[ 14m17s350ms - 14m24s890ms ] And he went, and he went to a far country, and as long that he had what the father gave him, he had many friends around him.
[ 14m26s310ms - 14m27s280ms ] But when it finished, and then all his friends left him.
[ 14m31s420ms - 14m32s370ms ] They dumped him.
Gideon Levytam: And now he had to fan for himself, and he wanted to eat even the pig's food.
[ 14m38s360ms - 14m39s150ms ] They wouldn't even give him.
Gideon Levytam: And you remember when he came unto himself, and he realized, oh boy, I can go back to my father.
Gideon Levytam: Why do I'm staying here with the pigs in this pig pen?
[ 14m49s510ms - 14m50s850ms ] I'm trying to eat the food.
Gideon Levytam: You see, he was still a son.
[ 14m53s510ms - 14m59s330ms ] He was still a son of the Father, that's why he didn't stay in this pig area, in this area where the pigs were.
Gideon Levytam: He left it, and he began, he came unto himself, he went to the Father and says, Abba, Father, I am not worthy to be called your son, make me as one of your servants.
Gideon Levytam: But the Father didn't want him as a servant.
[ 15m13s600ms - 15m14s270ms ] He was a son.
Gideon Levytam: So he gave him the ring on his finger.
[ 15m18s240ms - 15m19s180ms ] He put clothes upon him.
Gideon Levytam: He put the shoes upon his feet.
Gideon Levytam: And you remember, he killed the best calf he had.
Gideon Levytam: And he says, this my son was lost, and now he is found.
[ 15m31s390ms - 15m35s450ms ] He was away, but now he's back, let us make merry, let us celebrate.
Gideon Levytam: And they celebrated the restoration of a son that have gone astray.
[ 15m42s590ms - 15m45s10ms ] What a joy the Father must have had.
Gideon Levytam: And so, what happened is that we read here, love not the world, nor the things that are in the world.
[ 15m50s560ms - 15m55s530ms ] If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Gideon Levytam: Now when he says, love not the world, he's not talking about the world of creation.
Gideon Levytam: When he says, love not the world, he's not speaking about the world of humanity.
Gideon Levytam: He's speaking about love not that evil system that deny God and his son, the Messiah, and God's word.
[ 16m15s660ms - 16m27s450ms ] Don't follow this world, do not have your affection set upon this world, but have your affection set on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
Gideon Levytam: And brothers and sisters, you don't have to be a babe in the Messiah, you don't have to be a young man in the Messiah, you don't have to be a father in the Messiah.
[ 16m34s530ms - 16m39s200ms ] All of us are without exempt are in the danger of this.
Gideon Levytam: It is the struggle that we all experience every day in our life because from time to time, when we are not close to Yeshua, we end up being influenced by that and drawn after this system that hates God.
Gideon Levytam: And then James says, friendship with the world is an enmity with God, James chapter 4 and verse 4.
Gideon Levytam: If we want to have the world as our friends, and I'm talking about the evil system that hates God, that deny God, then friendship with the world make us an enemies of God.
Gideon Levytam: The love of the Father cannot be if the system of this world become prominent in our lives.
Gideon Levytam: Then notice in verse 16, in connection with the fact what the world does to the people of God.
[ 17m28s100ms - 17m31s430ms ] In verse 16, it tells us those three things about this world system.
Gideon Levytam: For all that is in this cosmos, in this world, evil system, is, number one, the lust of the flesh.
[ 17m40s100ms - 17m42s960ms ] Number two, the lust of the eyes.
[ 17m42s960ms - 17m44s380ms ] And number three, the pride of life.
[ 17m45s680ms - 17m50s380ms ] It is not of the Father, but it is of this world.
Gideon Levytam: Notice the three things.
[ 17m53s50ms - 17m55s720ms ] You know, this is a very interesting verse.
Gideon Levytam: We learn what the world is all about.
[--G 18m2s180ms - 18m28s700ms ] How even again we go back all the way to the beginning, to the Bereshit, to the beginning of creation, and when Adam and Eve were placed in Gan Eden, the garden of Eden, it was there that those three things influence Eve to disobey what she knew in eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Gideon Levytam: In Genesis 3 and verse 6, it says here, when Satan beguiled Eve, he said to her, has God said?
[ 18m40s410ms - 18m49s80ms ] And so we read in verse 6, and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that's the lust of the flesh.
Gideon Levytam: And that it was pleasant to the eyes.
[ 18m52s890ms - 18m54s550ms ] This is the last of the eyes.
Gideon Levytam: And that it was desired to make one wise.
[ 18m58s780ms - 19m0s520ms ] This is the pride of life.
[ 19m2s410ms - 19m7s870ms ] She eat of the tree of the fruit, and she gave it to her husband, and he did eat.
Gideon Levytam: Do you see, this is exactly how sin entered into this world.
[ 19m13s260ms - 19m20s590ms ] With the very same three things that are mentioned here in 1 John chapter 2 and verse 16.
Gideon Levytam: The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
[ 19m27s740ms - 19m29s900ms ] The fruit was good for food.
[ 19m30s670ms - 19m32s420ms ] The fruit was pleasant for the eyes.
[ 19m33s270ms - 19m37s100ms ] The fruit was desired to make one wise.
Gideon Levytam: The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
[ 19m44s380ms - 19m45s300ms ] It's exactly how it all began.
Gideon Levytam: And we are struggling with this every day, beloved brothers and sisters, when we are here in this world, we are struggling with these three areas.
[--G19m54s490ms - 20m1s610ms ] That is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Gideon Levytam: And so this is the world's system.
[ 20m4s30ms - 20m6s490ms ] And you know how different when you think about Yeshua.
Gideon Levytam: You see, when Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, they were innocent.
Gideon Levytam: On the other hand, when Yeshua was tempted by Satan, just like even Adam were tempted, Yeshua was in a wilderness.
Gideon Levytam: Adam and Eve, Adam vechava were in the garden of Eden where they had plenty.
Gideon Levytam: Yeshua the Messiah that was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, he did not eat for 40 days and 40 nights.
Gideon Levytam: Look at the difference between the first man Adam that is of the earth, earthy, and the second man, Yeshua the Messiah, from glory, the man from heaven.
[ 20m49s780ms - 20m50s990ms ] Two different men all together.
Gideon Levytam: Adam was in a place of Eden, of delight, Yeshua was in a place of drought, of wilderness.
Gideon Levytam: Adam had everything and every possibility to subject himself to God.
[ 21m5s550ms - 21m8s410ms ] Yeshua the Messiah was hungry and thirsty.
[ 21m9s270ms - 21m10s770ms ] Both of them were tempted.
[ 21m12s220ms - 21m14s360ms ] The one failed, and the other one didn't.
Gideon Levytam: Adam fell and brought sin into this world.
[ 21m19s180ms - 21m21s30ms ] Yeshua did not fail.
Gideon Levytam: And you remember what he said to Satan in Matthew 4.
Gideon Levytam: When he said to him, he says, men shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
Gideon Levytam: Yeshua the Messiah submitted himself to God all the way to the end.
[ 21m41s540ms - 21m48s540ms ] And that's the difference, and you see, he was tested in a very same thing, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Gideon Levytam: You remember the three temptations that Satan have tempted Yeshua, and you will notice it was in the very same three areas.
[ 21m58s550ms - 22m2s910ms ] The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Gideon Levytam: And Yeshua did not submit to Satan's temptation, and therefore proved to us that he was the Messiah of Israel, and the one that will be able to redeem this world for himself.
Gideon Levytam: And so, beloved brothers and sisters, there are three reasons why we are not to love the world.
[ 22m24s250ms - 22m32s160ms ] Number one, because we are born again, born from above, children of God, 1 John 2, verses 12 to 14.
Gideon Levytam: Secondly, because what the world is doing to mankind, to the believers, 1 John 2, verses 15 and 16.
[ 22m41s990ms - 22m42s980ms ] And the third reason.
Gideon Levytam: Why the believers are not to love the world is in this last verse, is 1 John chapter 2 and verse 17.
[ 22m51s100ms - 22m55s390ms ] It is because of what will happen to the world.
[ 22m56s950ms - 22m58s500ms ] To this system that hates God.
[ 22m59s590ms - 23m0s240ms ] Do you see, this system will not continue forever.
Gideon Levytam: Because it says here in verse 17 of 1 John chapter 2, the world is passing away.
[ 23m11s120ms - 23m13s30ms ] And the lust thereof.
[ 23m14s330ms - 23m17s920ms ] But he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
Gideon Levytam: You see, this evil system one day will have an end.
Gideon Levytam: You see, Satan is not going to be allowed forever to do what he does already from this old age tricks that he have done already from the Garden of Eden.
Gideon Levytam: He will not be allowed to do this forever.
[ 23m35s360ms - 23m42s840ms ] It's only for that season that will end at the culmination when Yeshua is going to come at the second coming.
Gideon Levytam: You see, one day, beloved brothers and sisters, we read it in the book of Revelation.
Gideon Levytam: When the Messiah is going to come to this world, he's going to judge Satan.
[ 23m55s530ms - 24m4s960ms ] And if you read it carefully at the end of the book of Revelation, chapter 20, at the great white throne judgment, it says in verse 10, and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beasts and the false prophets are and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
[ 24m24s210ms - 24m25s940ms ] There will be an end to this system.
Gideon Levytam: This world that hate God going to have a conclusion, will have an end.
Gideon Levytam: Even though he will be loose after the thousand years, Satan going to be loose for a very short time at the end of the Messianic kingdom.
Gideon Levytam: When Israel is being in the land, and the Messiah Yeshua is going to rule and reign from Jerusalem, there will be an end at the end of it, Satan going to be loose.
[ 24m52s330ms - 25m3s680ms ] He's going to attack Israel again, and God himself will make an end to Satan and all what he have sought to do over the generation to the human race.
Gideon Levytam: And then we're going to have the eternal order, chapter 21, and chapter 22 of the book of Revelation, where new heavens and a new earth will begin.
[ 25m15s660ms - 25m19s830ms ] And all the things that have happened in the past going to be totally removed.
Gideon Levytam: A new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away.
[ 25m27s360ms - 25m30s330ms ] Notice this expression, Revelation 21 verse 1.
Gideon Levytam: Very similar to 1 John 2 verse 17, the world passes away.
[ 25m38s700ms - 25m39s200ms ] It's going to end.
Gideon Levytam: And therefore, beloved brothers and sisters, Yochanan is speaking to the fathers, to the young men, to the children.
[ 25m46s700ms - 25m48s950ms ] He's saying to them, don't love the world.
Gideon Levytam: Nor the things that are in the world.
[ 25m51s670ms - 25m53s520ms ] Be occupied with me.
Gideon Levytam: And when you follow me, and not following this system, the love of the Father will be in you, and you will be able to be a good testimony for me here in this world.
Gideon Levytam: And that's how this section is being concluded.
[ 26m10s980ms - 26m13s260ms ] The world passes away, the lust there of, but notice 1 John 2:17.
[ 26m15s20ms - 26m19s470ms ] He that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
Gideon Levytam: All what we do for the Messiah, for Yeshua will remain.
Gideon Levytam: All what we have done for the world and its system will have to be burned up and totally set aside completely.
Gideon Levytam: And so John is writing, if you are a father here, if you are a young man here, if you are a child, if you are, we would say, a mother, if you are a young lady, if you are a young girl who became a believer in Yeshua the Messiah, let us all with the help of the Lord, be drawn after Yeshua, learn more about him, and not be attracted to this world and its system, which takes away from being near to Yeshua the Messiah.
Gideon Levytam: May the Lord help us, because without his help, we cannot do so.

About Holy Scriptures and Israel
As time passed by, the Lord Yeshua took dear brother John Van Stormbroek to himself. The ministry of Holy Scriptures and Israel continued with additional development. In the early 1990’s, a weekly morning Bible class began which brother Gideon Levytam led regularly in the City of Toronto. This weekly open Bible class was held in the Willowdale assembly meeting hall. Eventually, a second mid-week evening Bible class was added. In April 2002, the need for an additional outreach Bible teaching meeting arose. We begun a Saturday (Shabbat) ministry meeting in which a systematic teaching of God’s word is presented to all who attend. Together we learn God’s Word, pray for each need and the salvation of Israel, and sing songs of worship unto our God, praising Him and our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
In Mid 2004 we started to air on Joy 1250 Radio station a 15 minute Bible teaching program called "The Holy Scriptures and Israel" with Gideon Levytam. The broadcast teaches God’s word from a Hebrew Messianic perspective and has proved to be a blessing to many. It's now aired seven days a week. Our prayer is that many more of our Israeli people will have a clear understanding of who Yeshua is, why we all need him, and come to know him as their Lord and Messiah.
