Kingdom Authority
On today’s Healing Word program, Pastor Jack Morris takes us back to Exodus Chapter three where we read about God calling Moses into service and revealing His name to him, the name “I Am”. Some attributes of this name are self-existent creator; sustainer; and immutable. And if you have trusted Christ as your Savior, God imparts the same authority demonstrated in His name to you that empowers life beyond your circumstances.
Pastor Jack Morris: Friend, this is your day to begin. You may not be all the way there, it may be a process in getting there, but you have started on a journey to a new land.
Guest (Male): On the Healing Word program today, Pastor Jack Morris is here. He’s going to take us back to Exodus chapter 3, where we read about God calling Moses into service and revealing His name to him. The name: I AM. Some attributes of this name are self-existent Creator, Sustainer, and Immutable. And if you have trusted Christ as your savior, God imparts the same authority demonstrated in His name to you that empowers life beyond your circumstances. Let’s join Pastor Morris for the message: Kingdom Authority.
Pastor Jack Morris: Kingdom authority simply means the right or the power to become that person God wants us to be, a free, liberated person living in victory. Power. Fear makes us weaklings. We cow down to it. But there are other problems: challenges, anxiety, sadness, depression, sorrow, grief, loneliness, conflict. It goes on and on. And what we’re saying today about fear is the same power that can deliver us from everything else that is negative that’s going on in your life.
So may God give you ears to hear and a heart to receive so that you will begin a life of victory and walking with Jesus. It’ll be great and wonderful. You will truly, truly become a new creation in the Lord. Now here is something that we must get, and only the Holy Spirit can implant it into us. And that is the Kingdom of God, where God rules. Now if God is ruling in your life, you’ve given your heart to Jesus, you’ve crowned Him Lord of Lords, He is your savior, He is your king. You’re now in His kingdom.
When we say He’s King, or He’s King of Kings, and indeed He is to those who submit to Him. So crown Him today king, and do it again tomorrow, do it again next week, next month, next year. Keep doing it and you will live in victory because He has given you the power to do so. But some of us don’t quite realize that we are more powerful than what we think we are, and there is a power within us that needs to be activated. We need to in Jesus’ name tap that source and let it begin to flow and overcome all of these other negative problems and challenges that are confronting us.
But here’s what you need to know, and it’s so very simple, and you know it already up here, we need to know it here. And that is Mark 9 verse 1: see, the Kingdom of God comes with power. The Kingdom of God. If you’ve lifted yourself in prayer, in confession, in repentance, into the throne room of God, you’re a born-again Christian, you’re ready to die, you’re ready for the rapture, you’re ready to live here. You have power within you. You really do.
You need to begin thanking God for that power, even telling yourself, "I have power, the power of God within me." I’m a citizen of America, and I thank God for America, but I’m a citizen of another world because America or no other nation on earth is going to last forever and ever. God is going to come, and He’s going to rule. It’s going to be His Kingdom. But right now, the Kingdom of God is invisible in that it is within you. It becomes visible when we begin to live it out in victory.
But the Kingdom of God is power. And you have it. Listen to me today, please in Jesus’ name, listen to me today and become a healed, resurrected, raised-up church, raised-up individual in Christ. Luke 10:9 says that Jesus sent the disciples out, 70 of them, two by two. And He said, "Wherever you go, tell the people." And what He told them to tell the people, right now today, I’m telling you people. And here it is: the Kingdom of God is within you. It’s in you. He is sitting upon the throne of your heart when you crown Him and put Him there.
Now listen to what it says. Luke 10:19, Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you, and I give to you power to tread upon serpents, scorpions, and listen to this, and over all the power of the enemy. All the power. Friend, you have power today. In Jesus’ name, quote that name, say that name, believe in Him, trust Him, talk to Him. Tell Him about your fear, your depression, your sorrow, your grief, your loneliness, the conflict, whatever is going on. Tell it very specifically to Him, and do it often throughout the day.
Driving the car, at home, wherever you are, make sure Jesus is king and you can do it because you have the power within you to do that. Now when it says you have the power over serpents and scorpions, I’m sure it must mean literally, but really this is what the original means: it means you have power over the power of the enemy. Serpents and scorpions are symbolic words. We’re not just going to go around and step on literal snakes. No, we’re going to step on fear, anxiety, loneliness, conflict.
We’re going to stomp the serpent’s head in the name of Jesus. The head of the serpent might capture his heel, but you’re going to capture the serpent’s head and you’re going to defeat. Now there’s going to be a warfare. It’s going to go on. Whatever happens, whatever you get the victory over, it’s going to come back and try to bust your door down of your heart and get back into your life again. You’ll say, "Well, I’ve got the victory over that." You have had the victory over it, but it’s trying to get back in.
Whatever it is, believe God and trust Him. Now there was a case in the New Testament where Paul was shipwrecked, and he and his friends and people on the board went onto an island and it was called Malta. It was cold, it was rainy. He gathered up a bunch of sticks to build a fire to be warm, and a viper grabbed onto his hand. And the islanders watched for him to swell up and to die. And instead of that, Paul just shook that thing off into the fire and kept right on living.
Friend, come on, there’s some things you need to shake off today. You need to get rid of it. You have been bitten, but you’re not going to die. You’re going to live. God has given you Kingdom authority in Jesus’ name. Listen to this scripture out of Isaiah chapter 42 verse 13. This is what God’s going to do. "The Lord will march out like a mighty man. Like a warrior, He will stir up His zeal. With a shout, He will raise the battle cry and will triumph over His enemies."
Your enemies are His enemies. His enemies are your enemies. The devil sees Jesus in your heart, and he’s trying to knock Him off the throne of your heart and put fear there, put anxiety there, put sorrow there, put something else there that’s going to torment you. But there’s going to be victory in Jesus. Victory in Jesus. Say that today. Victory in Jesus. Kingdom authority. Come on. You have it. Go with it. Believe the Lord. He’s with you and He’s going to take you through.
We’re marching to Zion and let’s do it together in love and stop throwing stones at one another. Love one another. Serve God with all of our hearts. We’re part of the family of God and we’re going to heaven together. You’re going to have to live with me forever, so you might as well get ready right now and start getting along with me right now. You’re going to look and say, "Oh, there he is in heaven." Friend, come on, let’s face truth and let truth get into us. You know what I’m saying is true. This is the word of God.
And so Moses, he knows he’s got it over Pharaoh. But now he turns around and he looks. He said, "There are about two million Israelites, children of Abraham, that I have to lead to the land of milk and honey. I have to help them and make their lives pure, make their lives happy, tell them that You love them. I’ve got to convince them somehow. How am I going to take care of the church? Pharaoh’s after me over here, they’re after me over here. How am I going to do that?"
God says, "You go tell the church and you tell Pharaoh and whoever else wants to hear it that you are walking with the I AM. The I AM that I AM." Friend, the I AM that you walk with will never be defeated, and if you have a hold of His hand, you’re never going to be defeated either. You’re going to overcome. God is here today to bless and to help you. You see, the name that God gave Moses is the name that you have in your heart today.
You see, Moses is going to go across the Red Sea in the name of the I AM. The Red Sea's going to open up and he’s going to walk across on dry ground. Friend, you can’t stop what God has started. You can’t do that. So stop playing the devil’s game and being a sport of the devil. Come on, let’s walk with God with our hand in the hand of the man who stilled the waters, who calmed the seas. God is still on the throne. Let’s get with Him and with His people and march to the land of milk and honey, the land of blessing.
And that land of blessing right now is within us as we believe and as we trust the Lord. Moses led those people across the Red Sea. Moses led those people across the Jordan River. It opened up for them. Daniel went into the lions’ den. Friend, the devil like a roaring lion walks about trying to chew you up, devour you with one of these negative feelings. And these negative feelings are for real. And they’re more than a feeling.
They’re a power, but a lesser power than the power that God has on you and for you today. Friend, there is victory for the child of God today. Are you a child of God? Are you really? We’re going to live and act and behave like it then. That means you’re going to live and act and behave just like Jesus. That’s what it means when you walk with the Lord. Daniel went in the lions’ den. Those lions by Nebuchadnezzar were supposed to eat him alive.
He slept all night with the lions. And the next morning when Nebuchadnezzar came, he was afraid to look in. And he said, "Daniel, are you still alive?" Daniel said, "Oh king, live forever." Friend, you’re not going to be defeated and I’m not going to be defeated. You and I have overcome for 49 years. Any of you been here for 49 years? Let me see your hands. Not a one of you. I have a brand-new congregation. Oh wait, there's a hand way back there. I just can’t recognize you, sir, with that mask on, but thank God for you.
49 years. And in two Sundays, we’re going to celebrate. We were starting now, and we’re going to keep right on celebrating. And Daniel was in that lions’ den, but somebody was in there with him. Somebody was in that lions’ den with him. I think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego thrown into that fiery furnace so that they could be burned alive. The devil wants to eat you alive. Hell wants to burn you alive with those flames.
But those three men stood there and watched as the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Son of Man stepped right in there with them. God’s stepping in there, friend. I’ve had God step in with me, and I know in whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He’s able to keep me and keep that which I have committed to Him against that day. As long as I walk with the I AM, I’m going to walk in power, walk in victory. Jesus is the resurrection and the life.
I think of those Roman guards standing over the tomb of Jesus. Friend, there’s always somebody, somebody that's waiting for the worst to happen, looking for the worst. Come on, let’s look for love. Let’s look for fellowship. Let’s look for power. It’s there within you. Those guards, Roman guards, standing there over that tomb. And on Easter Sunday resurrection morning, those guards saw an angel come down, two angels came down, and they shook the earth.
Friend, listen to me, you and I need to have the fear of God in us. We’re overstepping our bounds. God’s not only going to shake the earth, He’s going to shake us and our families. We need to fear God. That means reverence Him. Be careful. Be careful. Walk softly with your hand in His hand, the hand of the I AM. Those guards saw the angels come down, literally shook the earth. Friends, God’s going to shake up the church. Why? Because He’s getting the church ready for the rapture.
And there are some people having too much fun talking and gossiping and living a divided life. Friend, come on, it’s wholehearted salvation. Jesus gave His all, not part of Himself, but His all. And then those Roman guards saw the stone rolled away and they fell like dead men. God knows how to slay the wicked. Come on, friend, I don’t want to be a wicked Christian. I want to be a child of God walking in His grace, in His mercy, in His peace, in Kingdom authority.
And we all want that, and we can have that. So friends, let’s believe and trust and get that. God doesn’t make it hard to receive that power. It’s to believe on the Lord and to walk in the ways of the Lord. Those guards saw the earth shake. They saw the stone rolled away. They saw a light brighter than the light of day, the light of Him who is the light of the world. Friend, if you’re looking for light, it will be there for you.
Don’t talk yourself into darkness. The light of the world stepped forth. I hear Him say, I hear Him say as He comes out of that tomb, "I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore." Jesus has come to you and me in the Largo Community Church and to His people everywhere. Friend, look for Him. There’s resurrection, there’s healing, there’s wholeness, there’s completeness in Him. In Him. Take a hold of His hand.
Put your hand up there and say, "I’m going to change my way today. I’m going to walk with the I AM. I’m going to put my hand in the hand of the man, the man of God’s own choosing, Christ Jesus. It is He. I will trust Him. I will believe Him." We quickly now, we move over to the New Testament and Jesus declares Himself. Listen to me, dear friends. In His name, listen to me. And then I’m going to close. Jesus declares Himself the I AM.
Friend, I believe there are Christians today that are wandering around. Once in a while they’ll reach out or reach halfway up, say a little prayer once in a while. And they’re Christians, they’re going to go to heaven when they die, but their life is just filled with defeat. In fear there is torment. Let’s fear God and reverence God and say, "I’m going to walk with God." Mark those who cause division. The scripture tells us, "Mark them." You know them by name.
That Spanish minister was here and says, "We are who we associate with." Come on, let’s associate with Jesus. Let’s associate with God. We’ll become like Him. Amen. Amen. Listen to what Jesus says in John chapter 8. He was disputing with religious people. I want salvation people. There’s too many religious people. I want redemption people to be my people. Redemption people, born-again people, that’s my church. That’s my brother. That’s my sister. That’s who I walk with. That’s who walks with me.
We’re on our way to the land of milk and honey, on our way to Zion. And here they were disputing with Jesus. They talked to Jesus about Abraham. Abraham, he was the first man of faith and we’re all children of Abraham if we’re people of faith. And this is what Jesus said: "Before Abraham was born, I AM." And they picked up stones to stone Him. People do not want to hear the truth, but it’s the truth that sets us free. Believe, be healed, be blessed.
Now let me tell you quickly what the I AM literally means, to the best of my ability. It means this and much more: it means that God is self-existent and dependent upon no one, and He’s not answerable to anyone, and He’s never going to change His way or His word. So friend, God’s not going to condescend to baby us along and to become like us. We are going to have to rise up, put our hand in His hand, and march to Zion with Him. It’s His standard.
And Jesus said, "I AM." Even before Abraham. This is what it also means: it means that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. God not only creates, but He sustains. He not only created a new creation within you and made you a born-again woman, a born-again man, He is now going to sustain what He has done. And thirdly, I AM means that God is immutable, meaning unchangeable. God is not in the process of becoming. He’s already there.
You and I are in the process of becoming, and we’ve heard things today that maybe we don’t even like some of the things that we’ve heard. Some of the things we heard we do like. Friend, like it all because it’s all the word of God. God is in the process of being who He is. Jesus identified Himself as the I AM of the Old Testament, the God that is the same. Jesus said, "Yesterday, today, and forever. I am whom I am." Tell my church that and go out and live in victory.
Friend, this is your day to begin. You may not be all the way there, it may be a process in getting there, but you have started on a journey to a new land. I’m talking to Christians, I’m not giving an altar call to the unsaved right now. If you’re unsaved, give your heart to Jesus. He loves you. It’s easy to become a Christian. God forgives very quickly and very easily. But Christians, come on, let’s stop claiming, let’s start being.
Guest (Male): Every Christian has Kingdom authority, the power within to overcome and live in victory. I invite you to activate your Kingdom authority with prayer, reading God’s word, and worshipping Him. Before we go today, here is Pastor Morris with a word of thanks and an invitation.
Pastor Jack Morris: Hello friend, it’s a pleasure serving the Lord with you in this healing ministry. The scripture says He sent His word and healed them, and it also says the entrance of Your word gives light. Because of your prayers, just knowing that you’re out there praying for me and sending offerings to keep this on the air, it brings me great joy and encouragement. God bless you for what you are doing.
