He Rescues Me

December 31, 2014
We have all experienced the feeling of spiritual oppression, temptation, or threats. But when David faced Goliath, God was the champion. God fought for the one He loved, just as He will fight for us when we're overwhelmed, because He loves us.

In Jill's third message from her series God’s Love for Us, she teaches us that God is our rescuer. That doesn't mean He will always rescue us from physical hardships or discomfort, but He will rescue us from sin, and its consequences. He will rescue us from Satan's schemes, from fear, and from ourselves.

I Samuel 17:26-29

It's easy for us to question God when He chooses us for a task. We feel unqualified, like God has made a mistake. But God often chooses the unexpected to do His work. David was the definition of unexpected. He was the youngest, the smallest shepherd boy, but he was chosen by God to be king. In the second message of this 8-message series, Jill shows us that all of us have been anointed and given the ability to receive a calling and equipping from God. I Samuel 16

Our mere existence is evidence of God's love. When God creates, He creates in love and with purpose. He knows our days, our actions, our thoughts, before we even begin to exist. In the first message of Jill Briscoe's 8-message series God’s Love for Us, she reminds us that our reaction to God's love for us, as displayed in our creation, ought to be like David's in the psalms – a reaction of praise and obedience. Psalm 139

Most of us know some things about Jesus, but do you know Him? If you don't know Him, how can you experience His love for you personally? You are precious to Him! When you make the investment in time to really know Him, you will find that you can trust Him with all you have – your whole heart. Jill Briscoe shows us how the heart of Mary of Bethany was transformed by her relationship with Jesus. Jill also shares her own personal journey with her Savior and the renewing power knowing Him provides. She reads her poem "Kneeling with Kings." Luke 10:38-42

"That though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." 2 Corinthians 8:9There are over 350 prophesies in the Old Testament that describe the Messiah. Jesus, born with no fanfare or even a crib, fulfilled every single one! The mathematical odds of that are virtually impossible. And yet, even with that knowledge, the question about Jesus is ultimately a personal one you have to decide on your own. Who do you think the baby Jesus was?In this message from Jill, she asks you this very question. If you believe the baby Jesus is God, you will live your life with a different perspective and purpose.

Keturah didn't know it, but when she hid in her family's stable that dark, star-filled night, she was in for a big surprise! Regularly cast aside because of her crippled hands, God had carefully chosen this young, Hebrew girl to be part of His miraculous entrance into the world! The Innkeeper's Daughter is a tender, whimsical story that gives you a glimpse of what might have happened in the stable on the night Jesus was born. Written and narrated by Jill Briscoe, children and adults will be captivated by her vivid descriptions of the stable and the many unusual visitors who came. Follow little Keturah inside the cramped, smelly barn and see what she saw: talking animals, chubby angels, regal wise men, and ultimately, the King of Kings, whose coming wasn't the only miracle that night. Enjoy this audio recording of Jill Briscoe reading from her children's book, The Innkeeper's Daughter.

How can we get ready for Christ to come this Christmas and not allow Christmas to come without Him? It's not easy to keep Christ in the spotlight when we are so busy preparing for the happenings of the season. But we can, and must, focus on what He did for us as we celebrate His birth this Christmas. Luke 1:26-56
