Think for a moment about the how you spend the majority of your day—working, attending school, raising children, running errands... Now, how do you spend the time that remains? We have to make a lot of choices every day... financial decisions, relational decisions, parenting decisions. From making a very small decision to dealing with what seems like an impossible situation, we often find ourselves looking for wisdom and striving to follow God's will. We're seeking to make wise choices. In this message, Jill looks at the life of Solomon to help us understand how we can develop wisdom.

In this Mother's Day message, we think of our mothers. We celebrate all the things they did right, and we are grateful. But there are some things mothers cannot do - that only God can do!

Is your heart asking, “How long, O Lord”? Who or what are you waiting for? A job? A friend to be a friend? Someone to love you or for you to love back? Are you waiting for a break—or a baby? A child to say they’re sorry, reconciliation, or an important prayer to be answered? Maybe you’re waiting for the bullying or betrayal to stop—or lying, hating, injustice, corruption, or hurt. Or perhaps you are in a crisis of faith that needs to be resolved. In this message from Habakkuk, Jill Briscoe offers encouragement for the tough times in life.

I believe in Jesus, but for so long I’ve been spiritually dry. I made a mistake. A bad mistake! And since then, I’ve been living in a desert of regrets in a dry and barren land… thirsty, thirsty, thirsty. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced a sense of the supernatural. I feel isolated, marginalized, full of self-doubt—a failure! If this sounds like you, Jill Briscoe offers help in her message based on the life of Moses.

We often ask, “Where is God? I look for Him, but I do not see Him. I listen for Him, but I do not hear Him. It is dark—so very dark. Not pitch black perhaps, but my life is lived in shadows. How can I find God in the shadows?” In this message, Jill Briscoe looks at the life of Esther to uncover answers to those questions.

We learn in Scripture how God wrestled Jacob to the ground one night and turned him upside down - so he could live right-side up. Jacob became a "prince" with God instead of a pain. When we're suffering the consequences of our own poor choices; when we're bearing the brunt of someone's vengeance and anger; when we feel absolutely on our own and life is not working out as planned, that's when God will turn up. He wants to walk down the stairway of heaven right into our hearts to make us aware of His personal interest and concern.

God came in Christ to offer us forgiveness through the cross. He rose again the third day and set about bringing the world back home. “Talk to me,” says the Father. “Prayer is the means; I have made a way.” But there is a problem—we don’t know how.

A bewildered human race is like a man lost in a forest asking, “Father, are you there?” In 1945, at the end of World War 2, Helmut Thielicke, a brilliant theologian, preaching through the Lord’s Prayer to what was left of his congregation in the ruins of his church in Stuttgart said, “Everything will be all right so long as we hear His good voice calling to us above the howling of the wolves, above the sound of branches snapping, above the ominous noises around us. God is always there.” A Christian worldview believes in the Fatherhood of God.

Being in a valley isn't proof that God has left us or that He doesn't care. God is our shepherd. He is leading us, protecting and correcting us. This is how we know God's love for us, through his action in our lives.  In this message, we learn that God's rod corrects us, like He corrected David after his sin with Bathsheba, but His staff comforts us through these corrections. Loving discipline shows God's love for us.

At times, we may feel useless, uncreative, ungifted, and unfit to do God's work. But simply by the fact that God has brought us into a redemptive relationship with Him, we can be encouraged that He has gifted us! The Holy Spirit is our gift; He is our anointing to do the good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.  This message assures us that God has gifted us and God will see us through the tasks He set before us. We can say, as David says, "He has exalted me by helping me to know Him."
