Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." How would you feel if you knew you were going to die painfully tomorrow? When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He was struggling with that same knowledge, for not only was He to be crucified the next day, but He was also to bear the weight of all our sin! How did He deal with such emotions? And how can we handle emotions in our own lives? Based on Matthew 26:39, this is the 5th message in Jill Briscoe's 8-message series, The Heartbeat of the Master.

So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me." Jesus' ministry only spanned three short years but had an incredible impact, lasting millennia. What was it about his approach that gave him such power? Based on John 8:28, this is the 4th message in Jill Briscoe's 8-message series, The Heartbeat of the Master.

If we are honest with ourselves, instant gratification is the driving force for many of our actions. But that pleasure soon fades. Jill brings us to Ecclesiastes 2 where Solomon puts this theory to the test in an effort to see what truly satisfies. This is the 5th teaching in Jill's 6-message series, Searching, from the Book of Ecclesiastes.

When you can't feel God with your feelings, feel Him with your faith. There are plenty of times in life when we feel like God isn't with us because we are focused on our emotions. These are the times when it is crucial to speak Scripture over our circumstances. Then we will find ourselves being lifted out of the pit. This is the 4th teaching in Jill's 6-message series, Searching, from the Book of Ecclesiastes.

In a world filled with "me-first" thinking, it's natural to wonder if we matter to anyone. Who really cares about me? In Ecclesiastes 4, we get to see Solomon's longing for significance in another's life, which ultimately can only be satisfied by God. In this message, Jill uses an acrostic for W-I-S-D-O-M. This is the 3rd teaching in Jill's 6-message series, Searching, from the Book of Ecclesiastes.

Have you tried to carry all of your groceries into the house in one trip so you didn't have to go back out to the car? Your arms are aching, the bags are pinching your fingers, and the food is beginning to slide out. But you keep moving, hoping to get everything into the kitchen before the bags break! Now imagine that someone in your family came out as you were unloading your bags and offered to carry them so you could sit down to rest. You probably wouldn't turn them down! Well, Jesus has made this offer - He wants to carry our burdens. We just need to say yes. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. This is the 2nd message in Jill's 2-CD series, "A View from the Porch Swing."
