What About The Unsaved - Episode 3

May 15, 2019

God is the most patient being in the universe. He gives second chances again and again. So what prevents everyone from knowing Him? The world, the flesh, and the devil. As man progresses in sin, his heart becomes increasingly hardened. And in our portion of Scripture Pastor Jeff is showing us that with the collective hardened hearts of humanity, they will embrace strong delusion so that they will believe the lie instead of the truth. With our final study titled, “What About the Unsaved?” let’s turn to 2 Thessalonians for Sound Doctrine with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

While believers have the hope of the rapture of the church, Pastor Jeff Johnson says that no one the day or hour, but we can know the signs and seasons. And yet with Jesus’ second coming, every eye will see Him as He puts an end to the lawless one with the sword of His mouth. With these two key events in mind, we as believers can know that the time is coming when God will make an end of schemes of satan and we will one day be with Him. There is a popular story about a little dutch boy who saves his country by putting his little finger in a leaking dyke. He stays there all night, braving the cold until the morning comes and the adults find him and fix the leak. In a similar way, our world is facing a future torrent of evil that Pastor Jeff Johnson says is being restrained by the influence of the Holy Spirit through HIs people, the believers.  But one day the dam will break and the Tribulation will take place. And because we delay the judgment on a Christ-rejecting world, God will remove us through rapture or release of our physical bodies. With more in our study titled, “The Rapture of the Church” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thess 2.

Is the church experiencing the Great Tribulation as some say? Is Satan’s program of destruction and devastation running unhindered, or is it possible that the Lord is still holding him back until a future time? As we continue our studies in 2 Thessalonians Pastor Jeff Johnson says that the Holy Spirit is actually restraining the unbridled work of evil through the church of Jesus. And while the world may not realize how God is using the church now, we are called to continue to be that preserving influence by God’s Holy Spirit today. With more on our study titled, “The Rapture of the Church” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians 2 in Sound Doctrine.

The Bible says that mankind has made the choice to suppress the truth of God in their own unrighteousness. And for each person who chooses their sin, they become enslaved to that sin which brings them an eternity apart from Jesus Christ! However, Pastor Jeff Johnson says that God has given us direction to not chose those things that will lead us away from Him, but instead to be filled with His Spirit. And as we learn the changes that precede the coming of the son of perdition, Pastor Jeff shows the characteristics of that coming antichrist when he comes upon the world scene. So with that in mind, we invite you to join us in 2 Thessalonians 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

A great rebellion, the son of perdition being revealed all must take place after Jesus comes again for His church. And while some people may try to stir up or cause fear among God’s people, Pastor Jeff Johnson says the rapture of the church isn’t something that we need to fear. And while some people can attempt to twist God’s Word, it is the person grounded in the Scriptures that will not be swayed by every wind of doctrine. So with our study titled, “Maranatha the Lord Cometh,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

With the increase of technology, we notice how it has helped believers grow in their understanding of the Word, Bible Prophecy, and current events as a part of the unfolding End Times. But Pastor Jeff Johnson is also quick to show how the sinfulness of humanity isn’t improved by technology, but exploited. Now we see social media giving instant access to people venting and complaining over things they may have been discreet about before. All these play into the Thessalonians situation as they were dealing with false reports about the return of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jeff gives us keys to understanding His return so we’re mature in our understanding of the Word. With that, let’s open to 2 Thessalonians 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

The Bible tells us that we were created for God and we exist by His will. As we live lives that please and glorify God, that fulfills His purpose for our lives. As Pastor Jeff Johnson is showing us Paul’s prayer of encouragement, this final prayer request for God to be glorified in the lives of the church of Thessalonica as they went through persecution as they went through their trials. It’s important to the Lord to see how we glorify Him when things go well, as well as when we face trials and persecutions. So with more on that, let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians for our message titled, “Encouragement Through Prayer” for our time in Sound Doctrine.

Trials don’t make a person, but they reveal what is in that person when they come along. Pastor Jeff Johnson shows through the church in Thessalonica that through hardships the heart is revealed. And as we come along the trials that we face, we need to ask the Lord to build up our worth as we experience those hardships. While we don’t like the trials that we experience, we can face them head on, knowing that God has a plan in it to refine us so that our faith will come out to praise, honor, and glory when Jesus Christ is revealed to this world. So, with our study titled, “Encouragement Through Prayer,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians 1 for our time in Sound Doctrine.
