Why is it that when some people get sick they die, but others survive?  It’s a tuff question many have asked through out the ages.  Today Pastor Jeff begins a series entitled “Sickness and Healing.” Our focus is on the terminal sickness King Hezekiah contracted and his miraculous recovery.

The Evangelist D.L. Moody once said, “Work as if everything depended on you, and pray as if everything depended on God.” As Christians we are entreated by Christ to seek his Kingdom first and then all these things will be added to us. God wants His children to come to Him with request so he can bless them. We conclude our study in 2 Kings chapter 19 entitled “The Power of Answered Prayer”

In 1 Corinthians 10:13 Paul the Apostle explains, "no temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."  God will not make the decision for you to escape, but he does provide the means to escape.  The choice is simply ours.

Jesus declared in John 8:34-36 "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.  And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.  Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed!"  We have been liberated from the bondage of sin, yet many people still seem enslaved to it.  We'll talk more about this in 2 Kings chapter 17, next on Sound Doctrine.
