Which is the most important relationship in your life? Depending on who you are, the answers will vary. But the one relationship that will cause all other relationships to flourish, is when we have a strong relationship with God’s Word. It is a non-negotiable to the serious believer in Jesus Christ. Scripture is filled with lives who put God first so that He was able to do all He would and could through their lives. Pastor Jeff Johnson says that when we put the Word of God first in order and importance, we too will see God do incredible things just as He did in the church in Thessalonica. With more on that, join us is 1 Thessalonians 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

Knowing God is knowing His Word. As our knowledge of God’s Word grows, so does our faith. As Paul thanked God for the church in Thessalonica, he attributed a lot of his thanksgiving to their receptivity to the Word of God. They received it and consumed it since they came to know the Lord. Pastor Jeff Johnson says that the more we are committed to knowing God’s Word, the more our faith will grow and our burdens will begin to diminish through time as well. With more on our study titled, “Relationship Is Vital” here, now is Pastor Jeff Johnson.

Israel was pulled away from the Lord more and more when they kept their eyes on the lifestyles of the enemy. And consequently they began to worship things that were immobile instead of the Living God. The same is true for us, as we long for the world instead of loving the Lord, we will long for those things that will draw us away from the Lord. However, Pastor Bill reminds us that the sins and the strengths that parents have are handed to their children. And as parents seek to glorify the Lord more than anything, that will be passed down as well. So, join us as we learn about Unfinished Business in Joshua 15-17 for our time in the Transforming Word.

What does it take to have radical faith? An unswerving dedication to living according to what is unseen, yet real. When in the course of life, many unbelievers live and die only by what they can see, those who live by faith experience an abundance of life in comparison. And through that trusting in God’s Word and promises He gives victory. As we resume our studies in Joshua, Pastor Bill reminds us that the same Lord who accomplished great things through Israel, is waiting to give us the keys to an abundance of life as we walk by faith like Caleb. With more on that, let’s turn to Joshua 15 for our time in the Transforming Word.

When it comes to sharing the Gospel and seeing others coming to know the Lord, besides gifting, why are some more successful at it than others? Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us of several characteristics that Paul the Apostle exemplified as he devoted his life to the believers at the church in Thessalonica. He then instructs us in those Scriptures that show how we too can be successful in sharing the Gospel with others in our homes, areas of work, and school as well. And as we put those things into practice in line with our gifting, we too will see the Lord bless those times of sharing the Gospel. As we look into the “Characteristics of an Effective Evangelist,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 1 Thessalonians 2 for our encouragement in Sound Doctrine.

There are two ways we can live in this life among others. We can walk in the way that is afraid of what others will say and do, or we will walk in the knowing those things that please the Lord and follow His ways. As we look at the apostle Paul’s claims to his behavior with the church in Thessalonica, Pastor Jeff shows that Paul’s main concern was making sure he was following God’s mandate instead of the whims and wishes of others. And as we make God’s word our manual for life, we will be walking in less apprehension and fear and we will take more ground for the kingdom. With more on that, let’s begin our

When you borrow something of value from a friend, you do your best to take extra good care of it. You want to return it to them in the same condition or better than what you received. The same is true when it comes to receiving the Gospel. God wants us to take such care to share it with others so that at the end, He will say, “Well done good and faithful servants, enter into the joy of your Lord.” Pastor Jeff shows how this was Paul’s attitude with the Gospel for the Thessalonians, and how we can have the same mindset today. With more, let’s join Pastor Jeff in 1 Thessalonians 2 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

When it comes to giving a defense on Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, there are some who simply don’t believe. They may accuse the Christian of trying to deceive others because we have been deceived. But as Pastor Jeff Johnson teaches, the truth of the Gospel can be easily tested by simply believing it and experiencing the life that Jesus promised. It is a life that surpasses the previous life we have lived. As Jesus says, we can have an abundance of life. So

It’s been said that the personality of the spiritual leader influences others because it is penetrated, saturated, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Whether or not we know it, God is reaching others through your life. And in our time in Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff is revealing Paul’s example of being bold in our God to speak to others the Gospel of God. As we continue to use God’s Word in our lives, our burden and vision to see others come to know the Lord will grow.
