However, His promises shine impossible in the day, but always shine brightest in the night of our lives. Not too long ago one of the top wireless carriers had a character whose tag line was, “Can you hear me now?” It illustrated how common the loss of communication and dropped calls on certain carriers. In the same way, there is a loss of people feeling like they’re being heard as well, living lives of quiet desperation as Thoreau once penned. Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us that there is a need for our world to receive comfort. Some people hope in material possessions, in career advancement, in relationships, or other things. But as a believer in Jesus Christ, Pastor Jeff Johnson outlines 5 sources of hope that we have. There will be no occasion for sadness. However, wrath will be the portion for those who remain on the earth. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, David said in Psalm 119. But for many it’s not God’s word that illuminates people’s lives, instead, it’s their smartphone, for others it’s the stock market news, and still for others it’s their spouse or family. They believe in church as their “fire insurance” or escape from judgment without a care to live for Jesus Christ.
