It’s a sad but true saying that inoculation against the truth is from the truth itself. As we continue with our first studies in the book of Acts, Pastor Jeff Johnson warns us that this book is not a safe book to read. In fact, we discover that it may cause us to see areas in our hearts and lives that are unhealthy. To the person who doesn’t want to change, that presents a danger. However, as we look into the word with unveiled faces, God’s Spirit is doing those changes to make us more like Jesus. Let’s listen in to our study titled, “Intro the Acts of the Holy Spirit” in Acts 1 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

A.W. Tozer said, “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.” As we start a new series in the book of Acts, Pastor Jeff peels back the curtain on the acts of the early believers to show how the Holy Spirit was and still is essential to the work of the church. With our study titled, “Intro to the Acts of the Holy Spirit,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in Acts 1.

In our era of studying famous leaders and titans of industry or history, the question of “What makes you tick,” is often examined. While the answers vary from person to person, yet for the Christian, the answer is the Word of God. It is the bridge to walking in the peace and grace of God. Pastor Jeff Johnson reminds us that the believers in the NT maintained a close communion with God because they had a close relationship with the Word. And our experience of His peace is in direct proportion to our time in it. And join us Monday as we begin to look at a new study in the book of Acts. until then we invite you in our time in 2 Thess 3 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

The need of discipline and the nature of discipline are both the focus  when it comes to the body of Jesus Christ correcting with those influences that would bring sickness to its members. It’s not just the job of the Pastor, or of the elders, but Pastor Jeff Johnson speaks about the need for each member of the body to spot and address those unhealthy influences that bring disorder and infect others’ lives. And while confrontation is never easy, it is necessary. We encourage you to take note of this important area of church discipline in our study titled, “Orders from Headquarters,” as we come near the

The Bible says that a little leaven can leaven the whole lump. It’s a spiritual principle speaking of the permeating influence of even a little area of compromise or sin can impact great areas. This was true when it came to the church in Thessalonica. Pastor Jeff Johnson shows how the fellowship had a small group of people who were disorderly, bringing disorder into the fellowship because of their unwillingness to work. He shares Paul’s remedy for such groups of people, both in the church then, and now. We invite you to turn to 2 Thessalonians 3 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

There is a false perception among some in the church that labor was a result of the curse, when in truth, labor existed before sin entered into humanity. God has provided work as a fulfillment for man’s own benefit. God always calls those who are already busy to serve Him. As we look at the model that Paul gave the church in Thessalonica, he shows that his work continued on while he ministered to the believers there. Pastor Jeff helps us to see it is this is the way ministry should be because work builds character. So join us as we finish the message titled, “Paul’s Final Warning,” in 2 Thessalonians 3 for our exhortation in Sound Doctrine.

The elephant in the room is not just an issue that exists in interpersonal relationships, it also exists in the church as well. When there are those who are in the church who were misbehaving and acting idle and disorderly, the church wasn’t heeding Paul’s instructions to deal with it. Pastor Jeff Johnson says that the church needs to confront those who give an appearance of being right, but don’t act with the heart of Jesus. When we don’t address these issues, it pollutes the whole church. So with that in mind, let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians 3 for our study titled, “Paul’s Final Warning” in our time in Sound Doctrine.

Indolent, lackadaisical, apathetic. These are just a few words used to describe those who Paul the apostle was warning the church in Thessalonica about. The fact that Paul actually commanded in the name of Jesus shows that this wasn’t a side issue, but something to be taken seriously. This was an issue that the church was previously warned about, now being reminded again. Pastor Jeff Johnson says that there were people in the fellowship who’s End Times understanding was lacking. As the body of Christ, they were encouraged to confront those people in the fellowship who did those things. With our study titled, “Paul’s Final Warning,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in 2 Thessalonians for our time in Sound Doctrine.
