More often are the regrets we have over the unnecessary things, the hurtful things we said with our mouths than the times when we didn’t say anything at all. James tells us of all the members of the body, the tongue is the most destructive. As we venture into our study of Sound Doctrine, Paul the Apostle reminds us that lying to each other is incompatible in being a member of Jesus’ body, who is the truth. And because we are intimately related to each other. Pastor Jeff helps us to see how the only way to overcome the tongue is with God’s Spirit. With more in our message titled, “Hoof and Mouth Disease,” let’s join Pastor Jeff in Ephesians 4.

Though mankind has accomplished great things in this world, there is still a lack, a void in his life. And instead of recognizing the void and the remedy in Jesus Christ, the natural man instead reinforces the rebellious heart against God all the while the Lord is reaching out to Him in love. Paul in Ephesians uses this black background of the unbeliever to remind Christians that we don’t follow those ways when it comes to our new life in Christ. In today’s Sound Doctrine broadcast we learn the difference of behavior between those who pursue the world vs. those who pursue the things of God in our study titled, “How Not to Walk.” Join us for the next few moments with our final installment of this study with Pastor Jeff Johnson in Ephesians 4.

According to the theory of survival of the fittest mankind should be getting better and better. However, we discover that this isn’t so in terms of man’s morality or his spiritual connection with his creator. But the apostle Paul tells a different story. According to Ephesians man’s downward spiral apart from God is evident. Pastor Jeff Johnson shares, not the state of the union, but the state of lost humanity who has no desire to know any better. It’s a cautionary tale that should be part of every believer’s self-inventory in our study through Ephesians 4. So, we invite you to join us for the message titled, “How Not to Walk” in today’s edition of Sound Doctrine.

Jesus Christ has given to us everything we need to serve Him, everything that is necessary to build up His body...as we follow Him. Tell me if this sound familiar: Believers get burned out in serving. Church is susceptible to becoming political and full of cliques. And to those who are saying, “Amen” Pastor Jeff Johnson is saying, “That was never the way Jesus intended it. But it is the by product of believers in Christ trying to do the work of the Spirit in the power of our own flesh, our best ideas and methods. Today on Sound Doctrine we learn God’s purpose for the church, but also discover man’s pitfalls in the church apart from God’s Spirit. Please join us for an enlightening time in Ephesians 4 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

Stability. It is the by-product of a healthy fellowship where the saints are using their gifts to build up the body. This, in turn, keeps a healthy fellowship from the tyranny of those false teachers and wolves who would try to draw disciples after themselves. Today on Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson shows how we can experience more of God’s stability in our lives as we understand the purpose of the church and walk in God’s purpose for us in the church through the gifts He has given us. We invite you to join us for the next few moments as we continue in our study titled, “Purpose of the Church” in Ephesians 4 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

God wants to reproduce His Son through the believers in the church. That is Christ-likeness, the result of the body of Jesus Christ being built up to look like Jesus and act like Jesus. However when we don’t function with the gifts God has given to us and allow HIs Word to build us up, we don’t experience the unity nor the maturity He intends. The result is that the church is only a shadow of what God intends for her to be.  On today’s edition of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson gives us more reasons why Jesus has created the church. We pick up in Ephesians 4:13 for our study titled, “Purpose of the Church” with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

Years ago there was a popular commercial by the Army whose tagline said, “Be all that you can be.” The need for preaching and teaching gifts  in the church today is necessary to equip the saints for the work of ministry. The goal is a church mature in Christ, being built up in love. But we have discovered that many today are distracted. The result is that we no longer desire the teaching of God’s word to know and fulfill our calling. In today’s edition of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff reminds us of the importance that we each have to be all Christ has called us to be in Him. With that in mind, let’s join Pastor Jeff in Ephesians 4.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a phrase that evokes a wide range of emotions depending upon who you are. If you have a more conservative denominational background it can conjure images of out of control and exaggerated movement.  Pastor Jeff Johnson says it doesn’t have to be that way. As a matter of fact, God has given us HIs Spirit for two major purposes that will make a radical difference in our lives for the Lord. If you’re taking notes, you’ll want to jot them down so they can transform your relationship with the Lord.  With more on our study titled, “Gifts Given” in Ephesians 4, here now is Pastor Jeff Johnson.
