Happy, Healthy and Forgiven, Part 1

Thanks for joining us on this edition of Sound Doctrine with Pastor Jeff Johnson. Having the knowledge of forgiveness of sin is wonderful. But, knowing everyday, God sees you as completely righteous, is great! This means you don’t have to worry about works! Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff is teaching about how blessed the believer is, resting in the knowledge of Gods grace. We are in the book of Romans chapter 4 in the new series called, “Happy, Healthy and Forgiven.”

In life, it’s excellent to develop a great work ethic. But, when it comes to salvation, works must stop. One of mans worst habits is incorporating a works mindset to gain grace. Grace is undeserved, unearned favor, which is given to those who have faith in God. Leading them to salvation. Today, we pick up with Pastor Jeff in Romans ch. 4 verse 3 and he will give us the conclusion to the series, “Keep the Faith.”

The Jews in Rome prided themselves as being children of Abraham, which they thought made them righteous. However, the Apostle Paul is showing them that their Father Abraham was human and made mistakes. We pick up with Pastor Jeff in Romans chapter 4 as he’s talking about the fallibility of Abraham, in the second half of the series called, “Keep the Faith.”

When you think of someone who lived a life of faith in the bible, usually the first name that comes to mind is, Abraham. You would be correct, as he is called the father of faith. But, his faith wasn’t in faith itself, it came from believing in Gods Word. Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff begins Romans chapter 4, and will be teaching about a life lived in faith! Today, we are completing Romans Chapter 3. Pastor Jeff is teaching us about some great news! The debt we all have has been paid for, if we simply accept the free gift of God, which is, salvation through His son. Jesus’s blood cures us of the sickness of sin that leads to death. We pick up with Pastor Jeff as he is explaining the price of salvation in the conclusion of his messaged titled, “Great News.”

In the Old Testament, there is a wonderful clause called the kinsmen redeemer. This person is a relative of a deceased family member that would purchase their land, and take in their family to provide for them. This is a beautiful picture of Christ’s completed work on the Cross-. Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff will explain the great news of what Christ has done for us in the second half of the study called, “Great News.”

Have you ever been in debt to a bank or loan agency? Then you will understand, that there is nothing more rewarding, then paying off a long-term balance. There’s a satisfaction that comes with it. Today on Sound Doctrine, we’ll learn about the debt Christ paid for each of us, in a message Pastor Jeff has titled, “Great News” from Romans chapter 3.
