Sincere love and concern for others seems to be in short supply these days. Living in the “me” or “self” generation, there are many who have no love for others when they are pre-occupied with love for themselves. That’s why the apostle Paul stands out in any era. He was so focused on loving the believers in Thessalonica, that his life was so engaged in making sure they were being established in their faith, even in the midst of great trials. Pastor Jeff Johnson says Paul’s whole purpose in writing these letters was to make sure the believers were established in God’s agape love.
