Elect and Example of the Believer - Part 2

February 7, 2019

When it comes to living out the Gospel and sharing it, there will be many obstacles that will come along our paths to dissuade or discourage us. The Bible tells us that we are to endure hardships as good soldiers of Jesus Christ. And Pastor Jeff reminds us that God will go before Him just as He did with the disciples as they were mission-minded and went out to the world to be a witness. And as we take those steps to be a witness in this world, only then will we experience God’s Spirit working through our lives. With our second installment of the message titled, “Elect and Example of the Believer” here’s Pastor Jeff in 1 Thessalonians 1 for our time in Sound Doctrine.

Jesus Christ is coming back soon. That is a fact. And yet until He comes, does the Bible tell us about what we’re supposed to be doing until He returns? Pastor Jeff tells us that those two themes are the reason for writing the book of 1 Thessalonians. With every chapter making reference to His return, there is much encouragement that God wants us to know and do as we prepare ourselves and others to see Him. We look forward to our time as we begin our study titled, “To Those Called Out: Faith, Love, and Hope” in 1 Thessalonians 1 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.
