Don't Be A Slacker, Part 1

November 10, 2015
The book of Joshua has been called an action book. It is filled with conquest, victory and defeat. But a key lesson in it is when the children of Israel become slackers. This can happen to Christians after serving for many years in the ministry. A mindset of slothfulness sets in and they become indifferent with the ministry and walk with the Lord. Join Pastor Jeff as he teaches a new series entitled, “Don’t Be A Slacker.”

Welcome to Sound Doctrine Radio with Jeff Johnson Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Downey. When Caleb was promised a portion of the Promise land he was 40 years old. It wouldn’t be for another 40 years before he actually received that promise. Have you ever waited patiently for 40 years for anything! Caleb did, and he remained faithful to God and Israel and then God rewarded him for it. This is a great challenge to us today as Pastor Jeff concludes his message titled, “To Wholly Follow the Lord.”

Thanks joining us today on Sound Doctrine Radio with Jeff Johnson, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Downey in Southern California. John Stott is quoted saying, “The authority by which the Christian leader leads is not power but love, not force but example, not pressure but reasoned persuasion. Leaders have power, but power is safe only in the hands of those who humble themselves to serve.” Pastor Jeff is showing us this through the example of Caleb from Joshua chapter 14 in the series called, “To Wholly Follow the Lord.”
