Daniel's 70 Weeks Part 1c

As you look at all that’s going on in the world, and compare it to what the Bible says will occur in the last days, you can’t help but see we’re in the last of the last days. But how should we be living? That’s one of many things we’ll consider today on Sound Doctrine through a study of Daniel chapter nine. Pastor Jeff Johnson is in the process of highlighting Daniel’s 70 weeks.

We’ll be finishing up Genesis chapter 26 today with pastor Jeff Johnson.

Can you relate to this… life gets so busy you can hardly think straight. And before you know it, the important things of life are getting crowded out. Like time with the Lord! Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll come to discover, we absolutely must remain close to God so we can hear from Him, even through the busyness of life! And when we do hear His voice, we must obey. That’s something Isaac failed to do, in Genesis chapter 26.

Without a doubt our fathers have a great influence on our lives… for good or bad. And very often a child will end up doing the very same things their dad did. Thus the saying, “Like father, like son!” We’ll see this play out right before our eyes today on Sound Doctrine as we turn to Genesis chapter 26. We’re going to be studying Isaac’s life and as you’ll see in a moment, it resembles his dad’s life in many ways.

God had this to say, “Jacob I loved but Esau I Hated.” Maybe that doesn’t sit so well with you! I mean doesn’t God love everyone? As we begin today’s Bible study, pastor Jeff speaks for a moment about election and man’s responsibility. It’ll serve to help us better understand where God is coming from.

Many shy away from Bible prophecy as they find it difficult to understand. But if we’ll take the time to carefully study passages like Daniel chapter nine, God can help us make sense of it all. By the end of our time together our hope and prayer is that you’ll see a little clearer what’s going on in the prophetic realm.

I’m happy to say there is, and here’s a little hint, what you feed has a lot to do with what will come out on top. Jeff Johnson is about at the midway point of his study in Genesis. We pick things up today in chapter 25.

Today we get right back into our study of Genesis. When you encounter a genealogy in the Bible, you might be tempted to gloss right over it. Thinking it has very little relevance to our lives. But the truth is, every word in the Bible is significant and applicable. And God put it in His Word for a reason.

Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll present a biblical perspective on death and the afterlife as we recall Abraham’s life and death.

Today we’ll be continuing our journey through Genesis. We left off in chapter 25. In recent weeks we’ve been hearing about the life and times of Abraham. And now we come to the end of his life. We’re told that he died at a good old age and was gathered to his people. Pastor Jeff believes that conveys something very important to us about living well and dying well!
