Being Filled With God's Spirit - Part 1

September 10, 2018

We live in challenging times. Modern medicine tells us that the root of more and more illnesses are attributed to stress than any other major cause. So when we hear a topic on being filled with the Holy Spirit the responses vary from unbelief that it is possible to experience that peace and leading to an unwillingness to surrender to the Lord what He requires. Pastor Jeff shows how the opposite is a life on a downward spiral that God never intends us to experience. With our first installment of our study titled, “Being Filled with the Holy Spirit,” in Ephesians 5, here is Pastor Jeff Johnson

The Bible tells us to give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard lest we drift away. When we are not continually giving ourselves and our commitment to Jesus, and being renewed in our minds, we will discover that drifting happens is the inevitable consequence. In our final study on “Knowing God’s will and Wisdom,” Pastor Jeff shows us the importance of stoking the fire of devotion even more as we understand the times that we are living in. With our final commands of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5, here is Pastor Jeff with today’s message in Sound Doctrine.

It’s been said that hindsight is 20/20. The truth of the matter is that God’s sight is always 20/20. Because not only does He see the past, present, and future equally well. And He shares His sight and insight with us. And when we walk in His wisdom and His Word, we will have the benefit of knowing that following Him will never lead us astray. That can’t be said of anyone else. As we continue in the second installment of our study on God’s will, the Apostle Paul is giving us 3 immediate commands that have an eternal impact in our life as well as others. Pastor Jeff brings out some key areas in the believer’s life. So with more on “Knowing God’s Will and Wisdom” in Ephesians 5, here is Pastor Jeff Johnson.

The more attracted to walking in our own ways instead of walking in God’s ways, the less we can have confidence in the power of God working in and through our lives. Many times we wonder why we don’t see the Lord working can be attributed to this drifting that comes from us, even though we might blame the Lord. As we begin our time in Sound Doctrine today, Pastor Jeff takes us through Ephesians where Paul is giving critical commands as a part of walking with God. With our message titled, “Knowing God’s Will and Wisdom” here’s Pastor Jeff in Ephesians 5.

Gait Biomechanics has become a major study of psychology, because it differs from one person to another. From this field researchers have discovered, what kind of a person you are, how you project yourself to the world, and your dominant traits. What then is Gait Biomechanics? Simply put: It’s how you walk. Today on Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson tells us that God shows us how to walk wisely in Christ. As we follow God’s Word and listen to His Holy Spirit, He will show us where to go, what to say, and what to do. With our final installment of the study titled, “Preparation for Life” in Ephesians 5, here now is Pastor Jeff Johnson.

We live in a time and era where there are more and more people who say they are spiritual, but not necessarily religious. What they mean to say is that they don’t want to be a part of a church body. They don’t desire to be associated with something that may not be perfect, and neither do they want to be accountable. In today’s edition of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff gives a Biblically spiritual description of the person who is not only genuinely spiritual, but it is a spiritual wisdom that isn’t about self, but God’s glory and how He wants to use our lives to build others up. With more on our study titled, “Preparation for Life” here’s Pastor Jeff Johnson in Ephesians 5.

It’s been said that man’s greatest need is God’s greatest deed. As we walk through this life, God wants us to receive salvation which involves the forgiveness of sins from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But God gives us the free will to choose whether or not we desire this amazing life that He offers. As we begin our new study in Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff Johnson says that God wants us to be equipped with all that God has in store for us. Get ready as we begin our new study titled, “Preparation for Life” in Ephesians 5 with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

We all know how challenging it can be to get a gift for the person who has everything. So, what do you give the God who created everything? As we have been learning the high spiritual truths of the book of Ephesians, the Bible tells us that we are accepted in Christ. Translation: In Christ, we are pleasing to God. As we live our lives to please the Lord on practical, daily basis, God meets us and blesses not only our relationship with Him, but infuses our relationships with others with His peace. It’s part of our final episode titled, “The Lord is My Light - Part 2.” So, let’s join Pastor Jeff in Ephesians 5 for today’s encouragement in Sound Doctrine.

Exposing darkness and confronting sin are not popular or the most often requested topics when it comes to Christian living. However, they are an essential part of walking as a believer in Jesus Christ. In today’s episode of Sound Doctrine Pastor Jeff Johnson shows the areas where both husbands, wives, and believers everywhere need to take this caution in order to win others to Christ. With more on our study titled, “The Lord is My Light - Part 2” here’s Pastor Jeff in Ephesians 5.

As believers in Jesus Christ we now have a new status of those who are now called light itself. As those who are light, we should be seeking after those things that will please our Father of lights. And because He never changes, the things that please Him will never change either, giving us a list of things we can do, and a life we can lead that will bless the Lord. As we continue our study titled, “The Lord is My Light” Part 2 on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff Johnson gives many practical areas of life and our culture where we are called to forsake the darkness and walk in the light. With more on that, let’s turn to Ephesians 5 for today’s message with Pastor Jeff Johnson.

Part of walking in the Light is that we experience what is referred to as sanctification, or Christian maturity. It is the progression of victory over sin more and more. And while we may experience sin on a regular basis, it doesn’t dominate our lives as it once used to. As we continue in the Sound Doctrine of Ephesians we see that God has done an amazing work in our lives in calling us light in the Lord. Join us now for our study as we learn exactly what that means for us Biblically and practically as we finish our study titled, “The Lord is My Light - Part 1” with Pastor Jeff Johnson.
