All Things Work for Good Part 1

As we continue verse by verse through the book of Romans today on Sound Doctrine we come to a very familiar verse… Romans eight verse twenty-eight! We’ll learn that God rules and overrules. The implications while at first may sound frightening – are very reassuring. As believers we are in the hands of God – who in His providence works all things together for good. Do you remember as a child getting those growing pains? Hurt like crazy, and would often even keep us up at night. But it was necessary stretching! And so it is with the Christian life as we’ll soon see. In this life we experience painful trials… growing pains if you will. They’re intended to help us grow into the person God wants us to be.

We’ve been spending some quality time in chapter eight of the book of Romans, with pastor Jeff Johnson. When you think of God, what pictures come to mind? Do you think of a strict rule giver, and someone who’s out to get you? Pastor Jeff will encourage us to think of God as our Abba Daddy, who loves us, and wants to lead and guide us! That makes all the difference in how we’ll relate to Him.

We’re camping out in Romans chapter eight today and all week long. Each and every day we have a choice to make as followers of Christ. And that is will we walk in the flesh or in the Spirit. One leads to corruption and defeat, and the other to victory and blessings. Seems like a no brainer, and yet we so often choose the wrong path.

Pastor Jeff Johnson is our teacher, and currently leading a study in Daniel. We’ve seen it throughout human history, God takes care of His people. And that message rings loud and clear here in chapter three. You’re about to see one day God will gather His church to be with Him, and He'll also preserve the children of Israel through the Tribulation period. Proof He does indeed take care of us.
