An Extraordinary Return, Part 2 of 3 (Christ Among Other Gods)

October 3, 2013
For believers in the race of life, the ultimate goal line is still ahead. When Christ returns, all our labors will end. The hope of Christ’s return has motivated Christians for two thousand years. And that return in power is nearer now than ever. Only a few saw Jesus rise into heaven, but every eye will see Him when He returns.

One Minute After You Die
Many people spend more time planning for a vacation than preparing for eternity. Perhaps it doesn't seem real that we will still exist—fully conscious and alive—beyond the grave. But it's true, and it calls for careful consideration. In this updated edition of One Minute After You Die, bestselling author Erwin Lutzer urges readers to study what the Bible says. Can near-death experiences teach us anything about life after death? How can we prepare for our own final moment? With 700,000 copies in print, this bestselling work makes an encouraging gift for believers and a tasteful word of caution for the undecided. There is coming a day for believers in which the race of this life will end. No more running, no more track, no more labor. That day is the bright hope for Christians: the day Jesus returns. That day will be like no other day before or since. And because the Scriptures cannot be broken, that promised day is an absolute certainty.

One thing runners need is power—physical power and mental power—in order to give a race all they have. The disciples of Christ got a foretaste of His power when they saw Him ascend into heaven. As a cloud hid His rising form from view, attending angels reminded them that Jesus would one day return in great power and majesty.

When Jesus ascended into heaven, He went to prepare a place for us. And though only a few saw Jesus rise into the sky, the entire world will see Him return.

The ascension of Jesus was a movement from the visible to the invisible, the material to the immaterial, and from the finite to the eternal. It was the key to founding the church—the body of Christ.
September 27, 2013
Of all the religious founders who’ve ever lived, only One is still living. Only One has opened the door to heaven. Jesus is alive and sitting at the right hand of God the Father, waiting to return in glory to this Earth.

Why do Christians believe in the resurrection of Christ? Looking at the evidence, it’s overwhelmingly in favor of the resurrection.
September 25, 2013
Kingdoms, emperors, and skeptics are born and die—yet Christ still lives. And His resurrection guarantees that one day, those who have put their trust in Him will also rise again.
September 24, 2013
The love of God was put on display when Jesus went to the cross to die for our sins. His sacrifice was visible that day in Jerusalem, and it’s visible, even now, to those who trust Him for the salvation His death purchased.
September 23, 2013
Salvation from beginning to end is of the Lord, and the cross is the defining moment, not just for Jesus, but for the entire human race.
September 20, 2013
The only way God could possibly associate with sinful humans and retain His integrity and holiness was to have a plan of salvation that could be achieved without human involvement. This plan required a perfect, sinless sacrifice: Jesus Christ. God the Son sacrificed Himself to God the Father in order to bridge the infinite gap between unrighteous man and a holy God.
